Utah now has 20 million in cap space, or this huge TPE. I wouldn't rush it if I were them. They could put offers in on these RFA in Giddey, Thomas, Grimes or Kuminga now if they wanted.

They probably open another roster spot and a bit more money when they buyout KLove.
If they can flip Kyle Anderson into someones MLE that is even more cap space.

Grimes in Utah would be awesome.

IMO Jazz need to find a way to get Reed Sheppard as well to actually start to build something...

Are the Jazz gearing up to trade Lauri?

A mechanics question: I know you can now trade someone into the MLE, but can you trade someone into the BAE?

Also, would UTA be interested in flipping Kyle Anderson for Maliki Branham (SAS) to make another ~$5 Million in capspace?

Spotrac's trade checker says yes. Another $4.25MM of savings.

Utah can full tank without trying to tank now. Can’t fine them for not playing their good players when they don’t have any. Will let them give the prospects minutes to evaluate them before having to decide about paying them.

Thank Heavens for some direction. I'm good with a nice, hard suck as long as it gets somewhere. Throw darts, see who's worth keeping. This is what I've been wanting them to do since trading Donovan and Gobert.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

I'm looking forward to drafting at #5 again next year.

You're lucky if no one sigs that.

But yeah I think the direction is good for Utah. Makes me wonder what the deal with Lauri might be, perhaps a deadline deal gets done.

It’s amazing that all teams involved actually love this trade. Pretty rare. All I care about is that the Clippers finally have a serviceable PF after all these years getting beat up, Kawhi can move to the wing where he dominates and Harden gets somebody both tall and athletic to play with.

Also gives an opening for Beal and maybe CP3 to join the squad for cheap. Beal especially will look to take Norms (now vacant) starting role.

Without Clips getting Beal or CP3 I think this trade is bad for them. I think this is why it's seen as a good trade all around.

Just reports and what not, all over the net. More then anything reporters and others believe they don't want to pay his next contract. We'll see I guess, If I'm not misstaken they have up until next off season? Can't wait to see what unfolds :)

Reports or random speculation? I suspect it's the latter.

It can’t be bad, just not possible. Getting a real power forward is the biggest issue and it’s now resolved, possibly long term. Norm was great when Kawhi was out, but when Kawhi got back, Bogi started to be a better complement, thus making Norm expendable.

As long as the Clippers get either Beal or CP3, then this will be a great offseason for them. Either way, it’s good.

Unlikely before the deadline, since he's a 10M expiring that can come in handy, very likely after the deadline.
