Smart on a min would be amazing as long as he isn’t chucking up shots. Just defend baby.

yeah in 2023-24 season he would have ranked 2nd in the league in steal per 36 minutes. Also Memphis was 5.4 pts per 100 possessions better on DEF with him on the floor rather than off. Small 20 game sample size because he was injured.

tough to really get a sense in his 34 games this year because he was on Washington as well but his on/off splits on defense were promising

in 2024/25 season:
Memphis was 4.6 pts better on DEF per 100 possessions with him on the court than off
Washington was 7.8 pts better on DEF per 100 possessions with him on the court than off

The shooting is streaky and iffy but he is still a really good perimeter defender.

Brunson / Clarkson

No one has to play over 31-32 mins. Nasty mix of offense/defense if everyone buy into a title run.
