Is there a multi team trade where Dallas can turn Klay into Isaiah Joe? Or would every team just take Joe over Klay themselves?

I think most teams would prefer Joe right, so it takes some proverbial grease for the wheels.

I guess so as well especially when you consider contract.
Not sure who is that 3rd team and what grease is required all around. Would at least hear what’s on the table personally.

I mean Klay has negative value. Joe does not.

MPJ re-routed to Pelicans for
Murray/Alvarado/Hawkins to Nets.
Nets get Murray on a smaller number but extra year, let's him rehab through the tank year and regain form his final 2 years.
Pelicans add a playable wing shooter/rebounder, clear Murray's injured salary spot and clears the path for Fears at PG.

Idk, I think Joe does too. He plays for OKC and is fine, but he is small and one dimensional. We have seen those guys have no value on the trade market.

Yea this is where my thinking was. Neither guy is all that positive, but I just like Joe's youth and fit better than Klay when the Mavs already have Ky and AD. Plus he'd be perfectly happy starting or coming off the bench, Klay wouldnt. Of course that also may be why most teams would prefer Joe, but was wondering if there was one that would want Klay, send OKC a bigger forward, and Dallas gets Joe.

Re: Rumors, Random Thoughts, and Non-threadworthy Posts The 19th Hole
A multi year contract for anyone outside the top 100 is now few and far between.
Seems the market for a role player is 1-2 year deal between 3m-8m annually. If looking for more then that then expect then that then expect the final two years to be non guaranteed/team options.
Role players making over 20m are negative assets and could only be traded for similar contracts or a poo poo platter of smaller deals.
I do think this will change eventually once every deal rolls over in the new CBA.

How do you explain the Collins trade?

I’m not counting the bird rights vetos.
Turns out Hayes gave up his bird rights

Jazz said last night that they generated a $26m TPE and plan to use it to take salary dumps.
The Mavs are obviously the target here as the team is awful and the ownership is worse and they're way over the tax. Absorbing Klay at the deadline seems very plausible.

According to sources his medicals revealed that he had $104 million owed to him from ages 35-38....
But seriously I do wonder what this is because if significant I'd have expected Portland to just completely void the deal, so it's curious what they could have found that didn't reach to that level but was still serious enough that C's agreed to let PDX pull the 2nds.
My immediate thought always goes to knees with NBA players, but Jrue was struggling with "mallet finger" since the all-star break, I wonder if maybe it had something to do with that. Might meet the criteria of something not void-worthy but enough of a malady that warranted that value being clawed back.

If Mavs dump Klay, something went horribly, horribly wrong, Klay is one of the only 2 shooters and the best shooter on the team.

I’m more curious what the Jazz are doing with Lauri now that they’ve finally torn the team down to the studs to start the rebuild.

Yeah agree the part I found interesting was not enough to void the deal but also not small enough to just let it go.

Do you have NAW in your top 100? Portis? Adams? Schroeder?

They'll have SloMo run offense until December 15th to boost Lauri's trade value and then they'll trade him. Markkanen was not good last year and needs a bounce back 20-25 games.
