Pretty underwhelmed by WCjr…looks like he needs a more organized system to thrive.

Yeah Walt hasn’t been great so far, but his first game was solid. I’m more surprised in how passive he’s been on offense, only 4 shot attempts is very unlike him. I’m sure they want him working on other stuff, but he thrives best when he’s aggressive on offense.

Because if JHS doesn’t show something this season he’s going to be out of the NBA

Watched him a lot in college...he looked like an NBA player to me; always seemed in control of his speed/pace. In hindsight, now that I watch the NBA more, I get it, unfortunately. Not good enough to be a pg, not athletic enough to be an effective sg, doesn't get to the rim a ton, doesn't shoot threes great, a midrange shooter who isn't that elite in the midrange. Rooting for him, but I don't think it's going to be

Ace Bailey looked good out there. His quick release on catch and shoot was a pleasant surprise. Media wants him to fail so bad smh

You think so? Everything I've seen has been generally positive. Seems like they want him to be good, from my perspective. Certainly Thurl Bailey and whoever that other announcer was in yesterday's game were quick to praise him...

Those were the Jazz announcers, and while they aren't the worst homers in the league, they will praise and love any Jazz player.

I didn't see it before he even declared. Just another one of these tall guards who doesn't really do anything well. The Lakers saw him against their G-Leaguers and said get this guy out of here.

That's fair...although, they also had a lot of good stuff to say about GG and Cam...

Again, just genuinely curious of y'all's perspective. You feel like the media is slanted toward wanting Ace to fail? If so, why?

I rewatched his shots because they sort of blend into the entire game when watching live and I was sort of surprised by how difficult many of them were considering he didn't take a ton of shots.

He really needs to focus on finding ways to create easier looks for himself.

You do know that anyone can get hurt as Tatum and Haliburton proved. That extends to the Raptors and players like Barnes as well.

He never got a fair shake. He’s right. He needs another 4 years to develop

He's gotten opportunities so far, he just hasn't taken advantage of them (plus he was drafted too high).

They love the Jazz, but they will always compliment the other teams players when warranted and usually are pretty fair to the calls if it goes the other way.

Personally I dont think the media wants Ace to fail- I think its Realgm posters. The media helped stir the pot with the Ace drama, and I'm sure they will again should it come up, but I don't think they want him to fail. RealGm does.

Ace does have a lot of question marks and certainly areas of improvement. I think he is 2-3 years of solid development away from really knowing if he has star potential. Its only summerleague, which doesn't mean much, but I've liked what I've seen so far and I am encouraged after 2 games.

Thx, yeah...I think media will always jump on clickbait controversies, and they seemed to milk the Ace destination thing for all it was worth--which at the end of the day appears to be a non issue.

My main issue with Ace is that he wasn't able to transform his team (along with Harper) into a good team. Like you I think it'll probably be a couple of years before some of that starts to shine through. Hope it does...

He kinda reminds me of a mid-aughts type player. Or like a late stage Carmelo, but with way more athletic ability.

The media is very kind to Ace. They have basically spoke about how amazing his talent and scoring ability is without it ever actually showing up, to the point that everyone thinks he was a huge steal to the Jazz.

Charlotte passing on Ace at #4 is crazy.

I honestly think Ace has a higher ceiling than Brandon Miller.

It’s SL so take it with a grain of salt, but Jakucionis has been the worst player in SLC and it’s not even particularly close.

Looks like McGrady with the arm sleeve. He is showing more off the bounce already
