We have Josh Giddy at home.
Only question is, will Spo give him the opportunity to be a point-forward?

Jovic
Herro
Wiggins
Bam
Ware
Can honestly be our starting lineup. Wiggins checks the opposing PG, Jovic checks the opposing SF.

Just someone to come in the game in case of emergency. He’s pretty much quiet quitting on the Wizards roster and super out of shape, from what I saw when I went to a game.
Did he get injured post trade from the Celtics ? I don’t remember. His drop off may be more related to lack of motivation he’s still young enough to give it one last push physically to get in shape and be a solid rotational piece.
The Wizards are content to pay him $21 mill next year to sit on the bench and be fat and happy because he’s an expiring. If the Heat want him, because they think he can turn it around and provide vet leadership and backup minutes, they’re gonna have to send back contracts that are also expiring, and I think we only have Rozier left. And I would hope we could get a little more for Rozier than Marcus Smart.
More for Rozier than Marcus Smart? Rozier will be playing in the 3 v 3 next year. Nobody in the league probably views him as nothing more than a buyout expiring contract. He probably cost this team about 10 wins by himself last year.

Jovic is 6’10 240 now and Spo has always been extremely reluctant to have Jovic anywhere near the SF spot. Now that he’s gotten even bigger this just doesn’t seem realistic. He’ll be the 6th man PF next year.

Sad but true. I think Spo needs to run a large chunk of minutes with Jovic, Bam, and Ware on the floor together.
For reference, the 2009 Orlando Magic would have Dwight Howard (6'10"), Rashad Lewis (6'11"), and Hedo Turkoglu (6'10") starting on the floor together.
I think Jovic can be our Hedo.

I mean, Riley did just turn two cap friendly contracts into Norman Powell.
And Wizards are trying to have a crap ton of cap space next year. I don’t see why they would give up Smart.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Better off putting the ball in Mitch's or Powell's hands.
Not that any of them are good options, though.
Herro at PG would be a disaster. He's too turnover prone to play the position. There are talks of him being eligible for a $150M extension over 3 years. There's no way I would pay him 50M/yr. He's too one dimensional as a player

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
We still need a PG. This team can very easily be pressed/trapped and have zero way of getting into the offense, especially when Herro is the only one that can create his own shot AND he's expected to be the primary handler. That's too much reliance on one player on that side of the ball.
JJJ is not a solution to bringing the ball up the court and starting the offense/creating. Imo, he should not even be starting next year. Jovic is more of a point forward and he is also another floor spacer.
Starting PG/Mitchell
Herro/Powell/Larsson
Jovic/JJJ
Bam/Jovic
Ware/Bam
If Cole 'Anthony comes available I think you jump on that. He's more of a scoring PG, but he is a good enough ball handler to handle a press and to initiate offense. Brogdon can also probably be had for very cheap and is more of a traditional point.
I wish we could have gotten John Collins too. I still think we need more of an actual scoring threat in the front court, even if it's coming off the bench.

Powell has a quicker first step and a tighter handle than Herro does.
I prefer him on the ball if the idea is to play them together.

Yeah Cole Anthony would be a great add. Just wonder if they already promised Mitchell the starting role

Ya'll going to hate this but we should bring in Horford. He loves Miami as a city and there has been mutual interest several times throughout his career. He would be a solid backup and a great locker room guy. I know it's ick but makes you wonder why he hasnt' already finalized a deal with GSW.

If they add Cole Anthony and are deciding between starting 1 of the 2 it’s easily Mitchell as he’s the far better defender and playmaker but Cole would be a decent spark off the bench.

Agreed--this shouldn't be the last window to trade Wiggins. He was presumably dealing with injury for the last stretch of last season. Refreshed and better acclimated Wiggins may even up his value through early stretch of season. Esp if teams get desperate with their own wing shortcomings.
