The Mavs are obviously the target here as the team is awful and the ownership is worse and they're way over the tax. Absorbing Klay at the deadline seems very plausible.

Always so fun.

If Dallas is awful, then hopefully they trade AD and end up saving money as part of that trade. 80% of the fan base would be happy with that result.. Or even tanking with an injured AD, still making fans happy.

If it’s just about saving money in a lost season, I think you trade PJ and one of Naji/Martin? If still not under the tax, look to trade from Hardy/Powell.. PJ in a walk year, trade forwards from depth.

Considering how asset poor Dallas is, it wouldn’t really make sense to trade their least valuable contract, especially when the team desperately needs spacing..

According to sources his medicals revealed that he had $104 million owed to him from ages 35-38....

But seriously I do wonder what this is because if significant I'd have expected Portland to just completely void the deal, so it's curious what they could have found that didn't reach to that level but was still serious enough that C's agreed to let PDX pull the 2nds.

My immediate thought always goes to knees with NBA players, but Jrue was struggling with "mallet finger" since the all-star break, I wonder if maybe it had something to do with that. Might meet the criteria of something not void-worthy but enough of a malady that warranted that value being clawed back.

Something minor medical. Maybe the finger. Who knows. Enough so the Celtics were willing to give back the 2nds but not enough for Portland to back out entirely. The reporting I have seen used “minor medical issue “ or similar terminology.

Jabari's deal dips the year KDs extension and Amen's overlap. Have been very pleased with the post morey FO on everything that doesn't involve Jalen Green but I suppose they got out of that well. Wish they got more dribble penetration but I suppose they're banking on being huge and I boards to compensate

The KD move may or may not pan out, but at least they got out from under that awful Green contract. I still think the Jabari contract is an overpay (he's fine, closer to the NTMLE +/- imo), but not nearly as heinous as Green's was.

Chris Broussard's "sources" always crack me up.

How far a Reaves+Filler(Expiring or Vando)+2031 1st for Mikhal Bridges we are?

NYK gets their secondary ballhandler and versatile defender(if asks for Vando), LAL gets their 3rd player from 2018 draft, a versatile wing to follow Luka.

NY shouldn't be fielding a Brunson-Reaves backcourt. Too much to cover for defensively.

Valanciunus should run for office. An incredible statement with lots of words that effectively says nothing:

“You can say anything. A lot has already been said, all kind of thoughts. The bubble burst, everyone shared what everyone thinks. We’ll only find out when the first game is played. Everything will be clear.

When the trade is finalized, we’ll come up with a plan. Denver will express their wishes, how they think, how they see it — medical, other details. That will depend on the team.”

They could rotate to always have one of them on court and when they're together you use Hart/OG/Vando/Robinson to cover them. Not perfect, I know.

What about Ingram? If he start well the season, what about an OG(to another team) for Ingram?

Brunson/Bridges/Ingram/Towns/Robinson ?

I think perhaps we take a step back and decide what does NY need? Moving Bridges or OG is a must? If so, what is the most glaring hole that needs plugging?

I think they need a good player who can create his own shot and help to run the offense while Brunson rests.

Use Bridges or OG cause they are good players but NYK needs more help with offense(creation).

I'd just try keeping them and seeing if Beal will sign cheap. If that fails, perhaps bring Brogdon in cheap.

Stone structured Jabari's extension to give relief in 2028 when Durant is in the last year of his extension and Amen is in the first year of his rookie extension.

Amir Coffey is still FA, good backup wing, Detroit could use him.
