not the deepest team, but that 5 next year is gonna be sneaky good. no reason they cant win 40-50 games.
southeast got much better this offseason. all 5 teams got better on paper.

Re: Around the NBA 13
Crazy his options for $8 million got picked up with teams knowing he was going back to Euroleague.
Imagine if he barely gave up anything lol.

Make sense.
Pat Connaughton makes 9.4 million, Micic cost 2 million and this trade (along with the Dame waive and stretch) opened cap the Bucks needed to sign Myles Turner to appease Giannis one more season.
So for 7.4 million Hornets bought 2 distant 2nd round contracts, and made use of the leftovers from the Mark Williams trade.
The Connaughton trade is finalized so we are short one more roster spot because we have to wait 60 days from settlement before aggregating him with another roster player, creating 1 open roster spot. The other thing we can do to create a roster spot is buy out Connaughton, which seems to be where we're heading with this roster crunch.
It has been written...

The Wiz already flipped Olynyk for young guys. They're totally down to lose and are just mining for young talent.

i posted about this in the offseason thread, i would hope we checked whether they had interest in Nick Smith Jr.
Kelly would be handy at the 4/5 for depth and something different.

I'm aware why it happened but just surprised there wasn't other semi useful/non dead matching salary we could have insisted on instead.

the reason they chose Micic is because he was going back to Europe and was going to take a sizeable buyout. That made him a pretty unique dust chip.
The Bucks wound up only paying him $2M. For anyone not willing to take an enormous buyout with a Europe offer on the table (Cody Martin for example), the Suns would've had to guarantee them much more to match Mark's salary.
investigate Adam Silver

The teams that can trade for his salary without decimating their roster are pretty limited. Looking over the committed salaries and rosters of different teams really only the Bulls, Pelicans, Raptors, and us stand out.

he's an interesting fit with Raptors and Pelicans. Raptors shouldn't have wasted that spot on Ingram

Re: Around the NBA 13
seriously, shorten the season, NBA is clearly making a disgusting amount of money and can afford to take the $ loss of less broadcasts and games.

Yeah and he’s not going back to the Bulls in my opinion. I’d love to see him here but the price is probably too steep.

Did I miss something? Why would Utah not keep Lauri? I understand his salary is steep and long, but relative to their other moves it is still manageable within their cap range. Hornets would never make such a high $ risky deal unless they were ready to move off both Melo and Miles.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
