Jokic is out. He's gonna join Luka in LA. Pay attention to the signs people. Denver had a great off-season and he still turned down the contract.

Luka/Jokic get ready for it. Gonna be hilarious to see the Jokic fanboys have to root for the Lakers.

Honestly, I think you should do some research.
The Denver front office ENGAGED this conversation themselves with Jokic and his reps. Jokic could sign an extension now, or wait until next summer and be eligible for another 80 million on top of what he can get right now.

Everyone in Denver knew he would likely wait, and so did Kroenke. It doesn't mean anything.

But what it does do is expose fans like you who are just trolling.
I think Jokic is leaving his options open for a reason. He already called out the team after they got eliminated. The Nuggets improved this off-season. I think he will see how it goes, but to say he's just waiting for more money is crazy.

Jokic wants to win championships like everyone else. If Denver isn't giving him the best chance I think he will leave.

Call that trolling, but it's simply how I feel about the situation.

Everyone needs better teammates to win. MJ didn't win anything until Pippen stepped up. Magic and Bird played with multiple hall-of-famers. Shaq played with 2 of the top 3 greatest SGs of all time. LeBron and Curry played with multiple all-stars. Everyone needs help to win.

Jokic is becoming more Americanized by the day.

How much can he sign for if he extends this year?

How much can he sign for if he extends next offseason?

Would you like to do a 1 year ban bet that Jokic is a Nugget after this current contract :)? I'm guessing you won't...

I guess he just wants the extra money next year, but damn it would be hard to walk away from 212 million when your career could end in an instant with a serious injury.

I would never underestimate the power the Lakers have on the league. They have a history of getting MVPs from other teams, so it wouldn't shock me to see Jokic in a Laker jersey soon.

Why would I bet on a simple opinion.

You Jokic fans need to calm down. If he's staying in Denver fine. I'm thinking he's leaving his options open.

Luka and the Lakers can't be slept on. They will have cap space and we all know they will be recruiting hard. It will be tough for Jokic to turn down a championship proven franchise like the Lakers with one of his best NBA buddies also on the team.

He cares so much that he is gonna cripple Denver's cap once eligible for more? If he cared about both then he'd resign now. Just like Shai did.

Waiting to sign for the biggest payday is a money > winning priority move.

That's what I'm saying. People are overlooking the Lakers in this situation. Sure Denver can offer the most money, but if Jokic is truly about championships I think teaming with Luka in LA would give him a better chance than what Denver currently can offer.

You talking about Luka/Jokic put a bunch of vet min players around them and they will still contend. Lakers are known for pulling these kind of moves. They are set up cap space wise to be a major factor next year.

Out goes LeBron in comes Jokic.

Why would he sign the extension now when he can sign a bigger extension next summer? Maybe he is being smart…..i think he sign next summer and stays in Denver like Dirk with the Mavs

Didn't SGA just sign the richest contract in NBA history?

I mean if he's just about money sure.

But does Jokic look like a guy who's about money over championships?

He's going to eat up more cap for Denver. How do they continue to put talent around him in Denver?

I think he's leaving his options open. There is a team in LA with cap space and has his best friend on the roster. Also the Lakers are known for winning championships.

I may be wrong, but people can't make me change my thinking. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you think Jokic is staying in Denver that's fair. I think the Lakers will be a threat. Never count them out.

They added Val, Cam Johnson, Brown, and Hardaway this summer plus Braun will be better next season. Denver is a top 3 seed next year. Denver took the champs to 7 this year. Chill lol

Irrelevant. He would have stood to make more had he waited. You realize this, yes? Cap is going up. So Shai signing now gives OKC the best opportunity to remain flexible moving forward, IE keeping the team together.

Jokic waiting to sign the biggest payday is strictly a money move. Assuming that is what he is doing and not making plans to leave for a winning organization.

What does a top 3 seed mean?

Do you have them winning the West?

Right now Houston vs OKC is my early WCF pick.

Agree. Not even sure Luka is a Laker in 24 months.

Better chance at Luka being a Laker in 24 months than Jokic being in Denver come 2027 at this point.

Even Jonas said no.

As a professional baskeyball player, if you are not scared of the spotlight, why wouldn't you want to play for the Lakers? They still probably are the most famous basketball franchise in the world. The history, the fame, big city lifestyle etc. I could imagine the Lakers would be high on just about any player's list.
