But you're being deliberately dense about Simons. There's no guarantee he makes it to training camp and even less chance he makes it to the all-star break.

You're starting to go too far in your personal references.
Scale it back.

Uh, no. He is being deliberately dense and trying to act cutesy about it.

He may be. But you can't call him names repeatedly.

What name did I call him? And when did I do it repeatedly?

By all means, show me how wrong I am.

A compromise would be to trade Simons for a big.

But if Brad keeps Simons then the next option is to trade one of the shooters.

Need 5 shooters at all times is not doable now that Queta is the Center.

Or you want Niang at Center and Sam at PF?

I don't care if we have a logical lineup. I care about development.

News flash, since when did Brad and Joe ever care about development.

We heard it from Brad's press conference, they will play to win from the start.

Brad even said Simons is elite on offense.

So if you're expecting development, you'll be disappointed.

Couldn't disagree more. The roster looks like it does because they know they need low cost contributors.

I actually agree with you on that.

Problem is from the track record of Brad and Joe, they prioritize winning over development.

Jaylen Brown was sitting a lot during his rookie year, under Brad.

And remember this season Celtic fans kept complaining about Joe not using a deeper rotation.

I was so upset with Hauser last season, he was terrible, especially when it mattered in the playoffs. I realize now I probably should’ve been mad at Joe for not trying someone else, part of the anger is also because that someone should have been Rico IMO. I wanted Craig to play too, how much worse could he have been than Hauser? It was clear early on that our bench was tragic and we never did anything about it. We relied on Pritchard too much for the scoring and then we got no defense either. Our stars were already tired and banged up, that’s one of the few issues I have with Joe.

This season should be the season where he has to make something out of “nothing!” Play everybody early and then give extended minutes further in the season to the best of the bunch! We know who and what a handful of them can do, they are going to play, but he must force the others out there for an extended look. Allow them to make mistakes! Our future depends on finding a few diamonds in the rough and new guys! We must find a couple players out of the 10 or so, “others!”

Throw them all into the fire!!

I still think if the Celtics are able to move some more money (Niang, Simons) there is a chance Big Al will be back. I personally think Horford is waiting to see what develops. My opinion.

No. He’s 31. I wish we’d grab a gleague guy or someone a team is going to release off their SL squad than go for anymore old guys. Give Lofton a real shot instead. This isn’t the season for it. We need to find hidden gems. I’m not saying he isn’t worth a spot, but that would have been okay if we weren’t trying to build players for our next window. White and JB are up near him, but they are star players. Those are the only older guys on the team. Go young or go home! :D

Please give me Al, he’s the only old exception I’ll take!

It seems like every other week I forget X is only 26. I try to ship him out because I think he’s old every time.

I've liked Holmes for years and it looks like he's been consistent the past few seasons, albeit on a subpar team. He brings some toughness.

Tillman and Niang for Smarticus and Holmes.... ooooooo, makin' some trouble! 8-)

edit: I do realize this trade is not feasible

The Cs will get abused inside the paint so badly.

Good, then we'll get a better draft pick.

We're not trying to win this season.

This season is simply about savings $, getting under the 2nd apron to avoid the basketball penalties, developing our young guys, load managing our vets and start figuring out what the roster will look like when we're back in title contention in 26-27 with a healthy Tatum.

Yeah, basically what you're saying is a natural tank.

I'm not against that.

What I don't want is intentionally tanking.

Why do people keep saying this? We may not be putting everything in the pot like we did for the jrue and kp window, but they aren’t trying to lose either. Too many good players here to lose enough for the lotto. Sure, it’s all opinion at this point, but we’re too good to be in the lotto.

Winning and winning it all are two different things in a way. Cavs are the example. We can still win and likely not be good enough to win it all. It upsets some, but Celtics aren’t going to tank. It’s too easy to get into the playoffs, 10 teams have a shot now. I don’t see us being worst than eighth and I believe we’ll be better.

If people are expecting lottery, it’s going to be a tough season for them. I know a few posters think I’m in for a wake-up call, but unless there are injuries, this Celtics team will be in the playoffs!

I’d rather believe all the way and be disappointed than be miserable all season, I have enough reality to handle that. Y'all can do what y'all want.

I expect the Celtics to be a 45-50 win team this season unless Brown or White goes down with an injury.
