Crazy thought. After Beasley is proven innocent lol, can we use the TPE on him?

TPE cannot be used for signings. Only trades (and sign and trades).

Based on what I saw from Beasley as a Piston, I'd call him one hell of a teammate..

like snakebites said the TPE can only be used for trades.

we do, however, still have the bi-annual exception available which is ~$5.6M that we could use to sign him if he does get cleared after the investigation. we have the BAE available and two roster spots open still, i wonder if they are still holding out some hope to bring him back later this season.

That would be amazing to solidify our depth but it really doesn’t address the most glaring needs at backup PG & PF.

But I’m all for bringing him back and working out the details later.

That’s a bit surprising. Not a good sign for Beasley.

Right. Seems pretty set in stone that he is not coming back anytime soon.

Curious what kind of jail time Malik would be looking at worst case scenario. The redemption tour is going to be wild, and hopefully there is a good gym wherever he goes. Prayers for shimmy.

Actually he chose #5 when we drafted him and then switched to #00 when we signed Beasley as a sign of respect for the vet. Not surprised he switches back if we don't plan on signing Beasley.

I’ve been around pro athletes and younger celebrities and many of them are only as good with money as their agent/ advisors are for them.

Many believe that they only need to focus on their craft and for as much as they pay their “team”, their handlers should figure out the details.

I’m not making excuses for him but this isn’t that abnormal. It only became an issue with the gambling allegations.

I don't think its normal for a dude earning generational wealth year in/year out, get his paychecks garnished just to pay freakin dentist bills. Hell that's not normal for anybody. People get their paychecks garnished because they have a history of not satisfying their financial responsibilities and the parties they owe had to resort to legal actions to collect.

Athletes/celebrities/high end executives and the like, having someone manage their finances is not abnormal. Whats being described in those reports is anything but normal. Even if he wants to claim he put someone in charge of all that, it sure seems like things have been running afoul for quite some time. Its his responsibility and his alone, and he seemingly doesn't seem all that concerned about squaring up things with all of his debtors.

If those reports have a shred of legitimacy to them, he is habitually and deliberating trying to evade paying for his debts/obligations.

Did you guys see the exposed video about this? Really a good watch! His parents were both Hollywood actors and someone posted about Beasley being involved in this a year before it came out. Pablo Torre Deep Dive.
