Raptors and Kings

Post#1 » by Thaddy » Wed Jul 9, 2025 4:28 am

RJ and Agbaji for Monk and Murray.

The Kings get a versatile forward that can also play PG. I could see them trying DeRozan at PF again similar to how the Spurs did. They are a win now team but they aren't really built for it. RJ gives them more size but he's not a PF but their GM is the same guy who drafted him.

The Raptors get under the luxury tax and add a good value player in Monk and they give Murray a new team before his next contractual decision.

Alternatively the Raptors could send Agbaji to a third team and send a big or a pick to the Kings. Then the Raptors could get back Monk and a filler (Davis?). The Kings get RJ + pick/big and Toronto gets Monk + Davis.

Sabonis / Eubanks
Murray / Jones
LaVine / Ellis
Barrett/ Carter
DeRozan / Schroder

Poeltl / Mamu
Barnes / CMB
Ingram / Dick / Mogbo
Monk / Walter
Quickely / Shead

The Kings would have a big line up despite being small at C and the Raptors get more shooting.

I’m confused on what the deal is? Murray is outgoing but then listed on the Kings depth chart? I don’t see the Kings moving Murray in a deal at the moment.

This is atrocious for Sac.
Monk > Barrett
Murray >>>> Ochai

It's not in the realm of realistic. Only thing I want from Toronto is Scottie.

RJ has better stats than Monk and he's younger. You would be a much better poster if you elaborated on the "why" part rather than just stating your opinion.

Raw stats, shooting percentages, assist%, and others are all in RJs favor and he's a couple years younger.

DOnt think Sac touches this. Im lower on Monk as just about anyone, and we've seen what smaller guards go for, but he's still more valuable on his deal than RJ on his

I'm not super high on Murray, but I'm pretty sure the Kings do a lot better than this if they make him available. RJ has been made available. The Raptors would like to trade him. If you're still evaluating him as an asset despite that, you're ignoring his market.

The difference between monk and RJ is t even close to Keegan Murray. Keegan Murray is the best player in this deal. RJ like monk is a one way player and as we have seen they don't have much value this season.

I would counter with monk and Saric for RJ

Toronto saves some money, kings get a slightly larger guard.

Not sure i want either player, but give me the guy who makes less annually. Rj is not a positive asset on his deal.

The idea if demar, lavine, barrett is gross. Let alone losing keegan. Not to mention tax implications involved in this deal.

Derozan + saric for barrett + ochai
If we are talking barrett id consider this. We eat that entire 2nd year, get ochai for doing so. Raptors get to clear out all but 10 million for Derozan next year.

So the Kings give up 2 good things for 2 bad things. Why tho? No team should want RJ, and Agbaji has no real value.

That’s a bad deal for Sac and one Toronto should jump at.

Murray isn't as valuable as Agbaji. How exactly is he useless?

Murray is the most valuable thing in this deal.

Murray is the most valuable thing in this deal.

On reputation, not actual play.

His 3pt shot has gotten worse each season...shooting 34.3% this year....Ochai 39.9%. One is trending down, the other upwards.

Murray is guarding the best player on the floor for the majority of the game and he is a good defender. Of course his numbers are suffering with how much effort he spends on the defensive end , and there are too many ball dominant players on the kings roster for his m to see the amount of looks he should be getting. With all of that his numbers are still decent.

Murray is by far the most valuable player in this deal. Ochai will make a nice career backup.

Even to the extent it's true that his play fell off for various reasons, which is definitely did, he at least has the potential to be a very good player. Neither of the Raptors assets do.
