Every player has some warts, but we really need someone stronger for a backup PF. And what if Tobias goes down?

I guess right now we have Ausar/Stewart/Reed as our backup PF?

Need to turn that TPE into something.

I wouldn't hold your breath on this one. TL's presser today doesn't bode well for new trades or additions. He underscored his content with the current roster and willingness to let it roll as it stands. He clearly left an impression that he doesn't plan to be very aggressive about filling in the two roster spots despite the team's obvious need for a PF and back-up pg.

Here is the Trajan “presser” from today:

Bummer to hear he’s expecting Ivey/Levert to fill the Schroder void. That will blow up in our face once we have 1 guard injury and we’ll be back on the same boat, searching for a real backup PG by the deadline.

It's a little unfortunate to me that we didn't get to bring Shröder and Beasley back. Loved them off the bench.
Whats promising though is that we did improve our size. Levert and Ivey compared to those 2 are much bigger. And they can handle the backup PG minutes between them. And I'm feeling like Robinson, with his size and shooting, will be very good for us as well.

I always think of the Knicks series;
Stew > Reed
Ivey > Hardaway
Levert+Robinson =/> Shröder+Beasley
All of these guys on the left are bigger than guys on the right.

I like this team man!

Cavs Knicks Orlando Miami Sixers? Atlanta? Bucks? .... not one of those teams scares me. I like our chances.

The Pistons have no such guaranteed significant role available. They could easily cover 100% of the minutes with the top nine guys on the roster already.

Honestly, this might sound crazy but if we trade for Draymond Green, I believe we would win a chip this year!

True, Tobias is the PF of the future, no need to look at other guys…and Bobi Klintman is ready to go if any of the bigs get hurt.

Same with point guard. Just have our shooting guards take those backup minutes.

Easy does it. Take the rest of the summer off, Trajan. The East is ours.

Yes, it does sound crazy

I don’t think he’s leaving Stef while he’s still playing. But he could help with the D. Wouldn’t stretch the floor.

I'm not trying to moderate this forum in saying this, but weren't you already spoken recently with about polluting discussions with worthless strawman arguments?

I don't know what your problem is, but if you aren't willing to participate in a discussion in good faith, then do the civil thing and just stay out of it.

Question, what was your opinion of Monty Williams as our coach?

Rather have Lyles than Boucher

Eason would be awesome, but doubt Houston makes him available. And even if they did, not sure we’d be good trade partners unless we’re willing to give them a future pick or picks.

Still really like the idea of trading with the Bucks to get Tyler Smith! Love his potential!

We don’t have the means to make a big trade like Lauri.

No to Grant. Please stop. Washington would be perfect but I'm not sure Dallas has any interest in dealing him.

I’m hearing rumblings about Goga Bitazde or Brandon Clarke

It actually makes sense now. You seem to be a fan of 12 men rotations and 5 man hockey style line change substitutions. Had you said you wasn't a Monty fan I'd be so confused right now.

With that said, how exactly did those 12 man rotations with absolutely zero continuity work out?

My sarcasm went way over your head (are there really Monty fans out there???)

Never said I want a 12 man rotation. Just want a suitable backup at each position. Injuries happen.

Not a Levert guy, and I think most people are severely downplaying the impact of Beasley and Schroder…so not exactly thrilled with the offseason, and I want to bring in better players.

So when a new PF target is mentioned in the PF target thread, and we have people regularly jumping in to say the rotation and minutes are set, I’m gonna push back.

Herb Jones was the other name mentioned (per HoopsRumors/the Athletic)

After the Pistons generated a $14.1MM traded player exception in their sign-and-trade deal sending Dennis Schröder to Sacramento, Hunter Patterson of The Athletic considers what sort of players it might make sense to target using that TPE. Herb Jones, Goga Bitadze, and Brandon Clarke are among the names he suggests.

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2025/07/central-notes-pistons-ivey-nance-nesmith-mathurin.html#ref=home

Jones seems like Pistons DNA, but pretty redundant with Holland/Ausar.
