I'd honestly rather keep RJ unless picks are involved. Monk ain't good and Keegan is a bust.

There's a chance Keegan gets back to just being a solid 3+D player. I think they've been playing him at the 4, which could explain some of his woes. But he's gonna be looking for a big payday..probably a better idea to take filler + pick.

Re-route Monk for pieces/assets that fit and I'd be game. I'd take a flyer on Keegan maybe a change of scenery would do him some good. Or just keep RJ I don't really care. Taxes aren't my problem. I would buy low on Keegan is all I'm saying.

Raptors are trying to win as soon as next year so keeping your best 3 and D player sounds like the obvious choice. Hes only entering RFA next offseason... we dont gotta worry about losing him.

If the Raptors lose the play in and finish 13th in the draft is it that bad? Add some more talent. It's supposed to be a good draft. Look at what ATL did with their pick at #13. Traded pick back, still got Newell, and that lovely unprotected FRP that's the best of the Bucks and Pelicans. Now granted that offer is unlikely to be offered again but still I wouldn't mind pick #13 in a strong draft. You don't trade Ochai to duck the cap obviously but if the value is there and players like Battle, Gradey and JKW show promise I'd deal Ochai for the right price even if it meant some losses. Still asset accumulation mode.

But maybe Bobby and Co are playing for their next contracts and you may be right.

Kelly should live out of his car by how often he's been traded in this calendar year alone.

Also...San Antonio giving up on Malaki Branham...the guy taken with the pick we swapped for Christian Koloko and Thad Young. It would seem that both teams lost that trade.

Kelly O must be ecstatic getting traded from the Wizards to the Spurs.

If Bobby can pull off Barrett for Monk, T. Davis and a first round pick, that would be a great trade for us. Take us $1-2M under the tax.

We banished that domestic abuser to Sacramento for a reason, f*ck bringing him back.

What pieces?

The Kings are apparently struggling to trade Malik Monk as is so clearly he isn't as valuable as you think he is.

Depends on the reason for them losing and where in the play-in they end up. If they're the 7 seed and they lose to some desperation shot or injury derails them a la the Cavs in 2022 then it's whatever. Injuries happen and the play-in is one game (2 if you're 7/8) so anything can happen with a hot hand or quiet night from your best. And of course injuries f*ck everything up like that Cavs 2022 season.

If they're bad from beginning to end and only in the play-in after like 35 wins when Ingram is healthy? Yeah that is bad.

At this point, I would just trade RJ for Demar. Production wise they are pretty similar but we get to duck the tax. Bring Demar home.

This is exactly what I was thinking for a while now. I didn't want to post anything about it since there would be so much hate for even bringing that up. So many people here hate RJ and want him gone but and the people who hated DeMar here would want to kill themselves if that happened.

With Masai gone I really think DeMar would be open to coming back and people here won't have to worry about extending the incoming player to a crazy contract like RJ. Max I think we get a first and DeMar. Unless Bucks come in and get him for Kuzma.

If you guys really want RJ gone this year I think DeMars probaly the best thing we could get that we won't have to worry about extending long term. Any other player we get for RJ will either demand a big contract as well or just a bunch of random players on **** contracts.

Me personally I would keep RJ as I think he can still get better and if the contract is to big you let him walk or maybe he would have earned it by then. I Would be fine with a DeMar deal if thats what it came to.

Totally! I’m in the same camp of bringing back Demar. I think we could maybe extract a first from Sac as well.

Demar is the kind of vet you want helping Scottie develop.

Wtf??? We don't need vets and I would take RJ over old Demar any day... rhe whole idea of trading RJ, if it happens, is to open minutes for the young SG's... who also in theory provide better defence. DEMAR DOES NEITHER.

Scottie can develop without this bs

I don't very often agree with you, Kingsway. But when you're right, you're 100% RRRIIIIIIIGHT!!!

I personally despise DeMar, and saw the Kawhi trade as, if nothing else, a chance to unload a bad contract. The fact that we again finished with the second best winning percentage in the league the season after Kawhi left - without DeMar - proved it. As for him being a "vet", age doesn't make one mature. There are countless examples of DD's immaturity.

Between Thad and Temple - and Fred and Pascal - Scottie has been exposed to enough vets. Now it's time for him to lead.

Not very important info alert. The Raptors have never traded with the Wizards or Hornets.

NBA Stat‬:

The Jay Huff trade was the first-ever Grizzlies-Pacers trade. According to the Bball Reference trade tracker, we still have six pairs of teams that have never completed a trade:

Nuggets-Pelicans
Raptors-Hornets
Pacers-Magic
Clippers-Spurs
Timberwolves-Magic
Wizards-Raptors

Its more of a financial move - if we don't have any intent to keep RJ long term as part of our core, then why not flip him for a cheaper contract in Demar? I believe trading RJ for Demar saves us around $3M; just enough to get under the tax and to sign Martin to a rookie contract.

It is Dort and IH that will probably be let go to make room financially for Chet and JWill. And so it begins, the breaking apart of a champion. They'll have one more season together before this team starts to be deconstructed.

If he doesnt improve he will be. Chet's had the least NBA time, so its forgiveable, but he's definitely lagged behind Jdub. There's never any critiques on a rookie salary and even less so when you win a title, but Chet has lowkey been disappointing offensively. He's probably been better defensively than he's given credit for
