Not very easily. You can't combine the TPE with the salary of another player to match a bigger incoming salary.

The TPE could be used if we are a 3rd party to facilitate a Kuminga trade, but it's not all that useful to get Kuminga here.

Looking at their stats, the only positive is that Branham got minutes his 1st two years before his injury last year and shot the 3 at a .402 rate in his limited action last year. Wesley will get some steals.

Bleacher Report draft has Branham as an extremely efficient scorer and secondary playmaker with limited athleticism. Wesley had the athleticism but not the shooting and finishing skills (and apparently hasn't developed them).

Wesley is very intriguing. I’m a fan of this trade and the TPE baby!

I really can't figure out a good move to make with this newly generated TPE. Not many teams are desperate to unload a $13M player.

I have no idea who is going to play center this year. The heaviest guy on the roster is Cam Whitmore.

I'm not worried about who plays center other than Saar in one last tank season. Hopefully he'll get to 230+ before the season starts. Still has 2.5 more months. They'll find a G-League-type of center. Should have held on to Jay Huff. They still have Kispert and the veterans to deal. I assume we'll make a Valanciunas type of trade before the season starts.

I think we could go back to Portland if this latest deal goes down. Duop Reath for Malaki Branham?

You want to see Sarr get pushed around and roughed up this year? Don’t think that would help his development. He’s already afraid of contact.

Yeah. I don't think either will get much PT as kind of guard tweeners. But it could help with another trade?

I mean, they are going to be behind McCollum, Smart, Johnson, Bub, AJ and Watkins. That would take us to 8 guards :o

And they still need to cut the roster by one, no?

It will toughen him up and he played a ton of center last season. It will make him get his a-s-s in the weight room. Chet Holmgren is a lot skinnier and plays a lot of center. And you really think they are going with Saar and Vucevic at center?

Marcus Smart, backup center. Problem solved!

Branham did more with the Spurs and finally got the 3 point shot going last year in limited time. Why Wesley?

Intel from spurs fans is Branham is unplayably bad on defense

Both these dudes look like they stink. I doubt they make the final roster.

Gogo bound for sure. But it's a decent trade cuz olynick is replaceable and a second rounder could be trade bait or the next gil or NJ

So much for my great mentorship program for Sarr. Guess I was wrong. Darn. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Good point, if Vuk was here (or another drafted big), we would have been justified in hiring a Big Man coach, as it stands, I hope the FO is properly investing in their #2 pick with the appropriate coaching.
