I think MKE can wait and be patient to see who gets bought out. Would love McCallom or Midds coming back. He actually fits better now than when he left because we got younger around him.

Brogdon is the least risk insofar as a “don’t rock the boat” vet minimum guy (currently on the market) versatile enough to play the 1, 2 or 3 for us.

That’s especially if Horst / Doc think KPJ and Rollins will be ready to man all the PG mins sooner than later.

Because BrogDog gets hurt. A lot. And if it happens in the playoffs we don’t want to be screwed.

Plenty of time before the deadline to see how the young guys develop though — and wherever we’d have a hole he’d would have a role.

Alternatively if we know we need a true PG throughout then Brogdon isn’t ideal.

Any chance of Kuzma for Simons to save them more money?

Works in Spotrac trade machine — think I read somewhere the Bucks could take on $6M more than Kuzma’s salary in a straight swap.

Kuz’s deal declines some next year too.

But of course they have to pay out that last year. And whether the Bucks want an undersized 2 who can’t defend looking for his shot in a contract year is a major question.

Simons’ contract is a year shorter, they don’t need to save any more money to get under apron for this year.

Kuzma would become a 40 percent 3 point shooter in Boston

I need a Middleton buyout and return home, and then a Horstian magic swap of Kuzma for a SF who can defend or just a functional backup PG.

KPJ/Guy-With-Pulse
Green/GTJ
Midds/Guy-With-Pulse (Prince has a pulse I guess?)
Giannis/Bobby
Turner/Sims

Edit: I guess we need to wait to sign Midds even if he's bought out. Man, finding a real SF is a pretty significant need.

Yup, Dame starting throwing Giannis lobs after Khris came back and was doing it. The second Khris was traded, Dame stopped throwing lobs

In 16 games they played before Khris came back he had 6 and 8 the rest of the season.

You forgot about Rollins, who is a competent defender who shot the ball really well last year the final stretch. A lot to like about him, as a reserve guard.

He’s not close to a guy who should get any non garbage minutes but he does serve a purpose.
Unless they can give his Prunty’s assistant role. What’s the cap on assistants?

What if Thanasis’ injury had a “Rookie of the Year,” type of effect and he’s now actually prime LeBron?

That is something I haven't talked about yet, but would be fun development.

It’s crazy that Brogdon is now a vet minimum guy. Our series against the Raptors was only 6 years ago and he was on his rookie contract.

Is it a legitimate possibility that Khris gets bought out and we bring him back?

Simons’ contract is a year shorter, they don’t need to save any more money to get under apron for this year.

Maybe take this with a grain of salt because I ain't exactly an econ major but they're still heavy into the first apron and a repeater team.

Going off this site, they're 20 million over the luxury tax and with repeater penalties they're paying $88 million in luxury tax this season.

A Simons/Kuzma swap would save them like 5.2 million this season, which would lower that number to about $15 million over the tax. That would remove them from 4th bracket payment penalties (saving them $21,640,163) and lower their 3rd bracket payment penalties by 2,055,000 (saving them an additional 11,302,500). Overall that swap would save them like $32 million this season?

A projected tax of 200 million next season would let them add Kuzma's salary slot to their current projected salary without hitting that tax still getting them out of the repeater hell.

Maybe they actually like Simons, maybe they could/would prefer to cut salary elsewhere (Hauser, picks + Niang, better trade for Simons), or just let Simons expire but I think diving into that swap is a lot more interesting than it is on the surface.

If it happens, which I think is fairly likely, I don't think it happens until after the trade deadline. From Washington's perspective, let him be a good veteran presence for now and maybe some team will get desperate and offer you something for him. Otherwise you just buy him out after the deadline and let him go wherever he wants for the end of the season.

If we had Nikola Jokic to play 42 minutes a game and stop Westbrook from trying to be Westbrook he makes more sense on the roster, sure.

The idea of just unleashing Westbrook in non Giannis minutes is so **** gross, it's literally the opposite of what even made him remotely playable in Denver. They literally turned him into Bruce Brown so he could be effective. And then said they rather have Bruce Brown back.

Westbrook declined his player option with Denver. Not the other way around.

Blaming Westbrook for Denver’s bench being terrible is something else. We have made fun off the Jokic on/off numbers for years because Denver runs the dumbest lineups imaginable when he is off the floor.

Surrounding Russ with shooters and Turner/Bobby is fine.

SUMMARY: Milwaukee was a team that was being watched closely around the NBA heading into the summer. They made some major moves, although they weren’t the ones any of us were predicting months ago. The most important thing is that Giannis Antetokounmpo is still in a Bucks uniform…for now.
However, let’s focus on the pieces that are trying to earn some minutes on this roster. Milwaukee’s Summer League roster features a lot of familiar names. Some intriguing with upside, and others most likely to be on the “you might need to impress rather quickly.”
Milwaukee didn’t have a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, but they added one of the most intriguing international prospects in the class. Serbian-born forward Bogoljub Markovic is a FUN talent. Still young in his development, there’s been buzz that Markovic could be stashed overseas for a year. While Milwaukee tries to figure that out down the road, the emphasis now is getting an extended look at Markovic in Las Vegas. Bogoljub has a great combination of size and skills. He’s a pick-and-pop weapon, but also has some fantastic vision and touch around the basket. I think the Bucks getting him where they got him in the second round had the chance to be a real steal. He’s a competitive player with charisma who just needs time for the frame to fill out.
Think this is a big opportunity for Bucks second-year forward Tyler Smith. After being viewed as a potential first-round pick last year, Smith fell into the laps of the Bucks, who selected him with the 33rd overall pick. Smith was viewed as a potential floor spacer with size who could be an asset in the frontcourt. Viewed as more of a developmental piece, Smith spent most of his time in the G League with the Wisconsin Herd last year. The Bucks could use an intriguing talent to groom in their rotation, so Smith will have a big opportunity to impress.
Mark Sears is an interesting wildcard to keep an eye on out there. Despite being a bit undersized, Sears was a big-time presence for Alabama the last two years and can light it up from outside. Andre Jackson Jr and Chris Livingston find themselves back for another year of Summer League. Bucks fans will obviously hope that their Summer League run is short.

Bogo wearing #23 gives me major purple jersey Ersan vibes. I like it, excited to see him and Sears play.
