One 2way, but Amari and Shulga were petty much guaranteed that. That leaves no 2 way spot.

We have spots but no money. Yikes.

Niang. So no spots or money if we keep JD and Walsh.

We don't have to do anything right away if we don't want to but IMHO, Walsh is playing this Summer League and possibly training camp for his livelihood. We save 2M if we cut him before camp, thus getting us back under the 2nd apron. Now we can do that later if we wish but if I don't see anything less than dominance in his 3rd Summer League I'm pulling the plug.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Agreed, I was just answering the question. Don’t really need to do anything til the deadline, tbh. I’m keeping Walsh around to see what I got. Then if nothing else has happened by deadline, deal with dumping the least productive cheap guy to duck the 2nd.

But I think we will do something else this summer. Just a guess though.

Doubt Simons ever plays a game here as Boston continues to look to shed salary and get under the luxury tax.

I predict that Minott will be in the rotation and Walsh will be hitting the pavement. I also think the Celtics are going to keep Jalen Bridges on their 15 man roster.

Do we know if Minott is actually better than Walsh?

Good question. We don't. Most of us never watched when Minott was inserted in those T-wolves blowouts but based on what I read on Reddit, he gets backdoor cut like crazy (a la Jaylen Brown), so he was in Finch's doghouse. His passing is better than Walsh and he really can finish at the rim with some nifty acrobatic moves.

"You have to play defense here," is going to be a big theme leading into the season. Simons, Garza, Niang, and Minott all come in with concerns on that end.

Joe Mazzulla has very much been a -if you don't play defense, you don't play- coach. It will be interesting to see if any of these new players can make a defensive leap. Hauser and Pritchard both learned how to D, and Queta too. Even Scheierman made strides last season.

You know the Celtics coaching staff is hammering this point home to the new guys.

Sounds to me like Windy making stuff up.

Have the insiders gotten anything Celtics stuff right this year?

Holiday trade - no rumors before hand
Porzingis trade - no rumors before hand
Draft - no mention of Hugo before hand
The randos we signed - no mentions of them before hand

Brad said yesterday we weren’t prioritizing getting below the tax. I trust Brad more than Windy.

This season will show us just how good (or bad) of a coach Mazulla is. It’s easy to coach a loaded roster. Can he get development out of younger players?

You could be right but is seems like since Simons was traded here the general thinking is that Boston is trying to move him.

I'm thinking maybe Sammy goes only if they can get a taker for Simons. If you're not gonna get below the luxury tax, why bother?

Well, well, well. Here we go.

I'm going to go on record (again) and say that we need to increase Pre-Season/Training Camp; not decrease it.
How many Achilles injuries did we have in the Playoffs (2024-25), alone?
