Draft Kings has Raps season total at 32.5 wins for 25/26 season. Seems on the low side.

lol those numbers are brutal, glad he's not on the Raptors or this board would be having a melt down.

as an objective observer I think this means very little. His game is just not suited for summer league at all. He'll need to shoot the ball better to have success in the NBA but this is too small of a sample size to tell anything

I guess this means Kasp wins rookie of the year.

Castle in summer league last year shot 38% from the field and 33% from 3.

If I were a betting person, I would easily bet the over.

We tried to tank and still managed 30 wins.
ingram and more depth this season, and flipping modes to trying to win get us past 33 wins easily.

Not far off his regular season splits. 43% and 28%

Yep. Perennial tankers... Raptor Fans and Ownership would not tolerate that...

Have we not learned from the past 2 drafts that no matter how many losses you accrue, that it never guarantees draft success? They claim it isn't rigged but when 2 teams that lost in the play-in end up getting #1 picks 2 years in a row...is that not the lottery gods (who may well be Adam Silver) are discouraging tanking.

TWO were losing their **** about going from a 14% chance at a #1 pick to 12.5% this past season...and then the team with 1.34% chance at the #1 pick gets it...how does it feel to know that none of that ever mattered? They were being all condescending telling others that they don't understand math. lololol...

Jazz lucked out that Ace fell to them but for all the losing and suffering their fanbase has endured...dropping to 5th had to be a wake up call.

Not only draft success but team success. Arguably the most prolific tanking team in recent history was Philadelphia. Look at the Sixers and what they have achieved through "The Process" where they actually were very lucky to have two 1st overall picks and two 3rd overall picks in 4 years. Those picks include two guys that made multiple All-Star teams, were named to All-NBA and All-Defensive teams, and one player won an MVP.

Their best playoff performance has been losing in the 2nd round 5 times.

Let me give you the last few Summer League MVPs:

2024 - Jalen Wilson
2023 - Cam Whitmore
2022 - Keegan Murray
2021 - Davison Mitchell and Cam Thomas
2019 - Brandon Clarke
2018 - Josh Hart
2017 - Lonzo Ball
2016 - Tyus Jones
2015 - Kyle Anderson
2014 - Glen Rice Jr.
2013 - Valanciunas (yeah!)

Any of these scream all-star to you?

Summer League provides a nice glimpse but I wouldn't take too much away from these games unless you can see the guy obviously has no IQ or feel for the game.

Remember when Davion had 37 points in a summer league game and people thought he was the steal of the draft? He's an okay player but nothing more than a good back up. Korkmaz dropped 40 in summer league, Belinelli was dominating, Hezonja was dominating, Selby was unreal in summer league, Duarte looked unreal, Austin Daye looked great etc.

Sarr looked bad last summer but ended being decent as a rookie. Wemby had some struggles during summer league but still had a great rookie season.

It's usually common that sophomore NBA players dominate summer league.

You do understand Philly shutdown VJ after one game. Utah shutdown Bailey after two games. You cant win MVP if you dont play.

I also trust Miami's track record, they don't have too many busts over the past decade.

Kasp will be fine when he's a secondary ballhandler/creator/scorer off the bench and he isn't asked to be the focal point of the offense.

Yes, that is essentially it. The top prospects get shutdown and the guys fighting for two-ways and on teams with good depth tend to win MVP. If your guy wins MVP you have probably found yourself a great role player, which is like finding a diamond.

SL set-off the career of Fred Van Vleet, and I remembered his first shift I think was in the third quarter and he hit a three and a halfcourt shot. You could tell by the way he carried himself he was going to be special. It isn't just scoring, but the defense and running the team. I am hoping we find something in Chucky Hepburn.

I just read that Raps had the second best odds of winning the summer league. Who bets on summer league? Is it even allowed? Why would you if it is? And is there a Jontay Porter all-star team award for summer league?
