Warriors Free Agency 2025

We really need Melton back. The PG situation is untenable with a 37+ year old Steph who is going to need rest, Podz is a) not a real PG and b) someone Kerr is compelled to play alongside Steph instead of in place of him. Scrubs like Pat Spencer, Richard, and Armstrong are fun regular season stories for a few games, but as we saw last year, they aren't going to be filling in for Steph against playoff competition. At shooting guard, they have a lot more guys who might conceivably fit the role, but they all have big question marks. If they go into the season with this backcourt, they're already starting with a big handicap and set up to fail.

I guess Lacob is just waiting for Steph to retire, basically. Until that happens, he's apparently not using his draft picks, and not moving off of Draymond or Kerr (and probably not Jimmy either). It's looking like several more painful years watching it all slowly break down. I'm not even convinced missing the playoffs entirely changes anything.

I wonder if we could target austin reaves. Probably better than what podz will become while on a cheap contract, making it easy to trade for. Would work nicely next to steph though the defense might suffer. I'd moody and podz, plus a protected first gets it done.

Horford, Melton, Beal or Lillard, and a young prospect/pick for Kuminga would be a pretty ideal reload.

They're definitely getting a guard, whether Melton, Beal, or other. I didn't think there was anything painful about the post-butler warriors. They played great basketball and should be about to add depth to that roster

Reeves just declined a 4/90 extension. He is looking to get paid. This is going to blow up in his face if the trend continues of score first players being diminished in value.

Sure. I'm not sure about long term but for next season and one more?

He was udfa, I believe, and got restricted into a low-ball contract. I don't blame him turning down 4/90.

I am hoping we get Beal, I just don't know if we can keep pace offensively with how stacked teams are getting out west. Even just the Texas triangle is a massive challenge and thats before you get to the top 3 out west last season in OKC, Minnesota, and Denver. The LA teams who knows how the rosters shake out.

Hard to say what route Beal will go. I don't think Millwaukee has any chance of winning a Championship but the east will be less competition. It would probably suck to be on the Lakers with Luka, LeBron, and Reaves dominating the ball. The Clippers seem like an obvious position fit like we are, but who do you trust more? Curry-Butler or Harden-Kawhi? Guess the dark horse scenario is Denver just takes both Horford and Beal.

Unlikely horford goes to Denver, even if they didn't trade for JV. I don't think we have a great chance at Beal but I do think we're in the mix. He'd be a real nice get for the vet min.

Pretty much. To me, the chances he's healthy for the playoffs is probably similar to Dame's.

Melton injured is still better than Kerr putting in GP2 in front of anyone off the bench, regardless if it doesn't work... than running some other warm bodies.
