This is what you do, why would they do otherwise? It's like we forgot who he was before he was forced to play PG on busted ass rosters for the last 2 seasons. Ishbia's decision making for the team is what makes Booker looks worse. Once they get all of the bad decision players out who are eating minutes and shots at his natural position, I expect a complete return to form. He's a completely capable #1 option who needs ancillary players around him who makes sense, not players that relegates him to the 2nd or 3rd option like KD and Beal.

Hopefully his career arc doesn't mirror that of Bradley Beal who also signed a huge extension at age 29 but then was frequently injured and a shell of his former self.

At least the no trade clause is not included so that is a bonus I suppose.

Should have waited a year for Booker to get some form back then traded him for a massive haul of Future picks and young players.

Booker is not a franchise player, never has been.

At least Devin will be counting his money during the time The Suns are a bottomn 3 worst team in thr NBA

His career will peter out ironically like Beal and his final years at the Wizards

God I hope not!

I really think his peak was from 2021-2023 and while he will still have some productive years things will go downhill in his early 30's unless he somehow turns into a deadly 3pt shooter somehow and evolves his game to compensate for lost explosiveness which was sub par even at his peak.

Damn he didn't make the All-Star game or an All-NBA team last season. That's WAY too much money for Booker. Booker is a Robin, getting Batman money.

You all remember when the salary cap was $70 million just 9 years ago? Ah, simpler times lol

Now we have one player making $72.5 million by himself.

He's a franchise player, right now. Has been for years.

This is the highest annual salary in NBA history.

Booker is not even a top 10 player.

I guess it's slightly less than the original reported 150 million dollar extension, but it doesn't matter regardless because Booker the most paid player in the NBA regardless. It's unbelievable the Suns committed this much money to Devin Booker, who's maybe a top 15-20 player in the NBA. The Suns are going to regret not trading him for a huge haul to jump start a rebuild. Talk about committing to mediocrity with no way out for foreseeable future.

Only official now, think they were waiting for this before the waiving of Beal.

I miss those days badly ! Back then a MAX was like $15- $18 million or so. All you needed was like $35 in cap space and bam! You got an opening to Persue two Max free agents ! Like $50ish million in Capsace got you LeBron/Wade/Bosh. Now? Is $50 million in Capsace enough to even make a bid for a Doncic or Giannis type ?

And Cam Thomas is struggling to get a new deal from the Nets or anyone else.

The whole current CBA is a total shemozzle and mess with good serviceable players just below the elite/all star level threshold like Thomas (and Josh Giddey) struggling to get new deals and Booker getting this ridiculous extension right at the tail end of his prime/when he is starting to wind down, he will be 32 when it starts.

Frankly I would be much happier to take on Cam Thomas and what he offers going fowards for a fraction of a price than Devin and that albatross contract which now makes.him almost impossible to trade now

I'm not sure what else the Suns could do besides trade him. Looking at their roster, maybe they should have for younger assets and draft capital to infuse a rebuild.

KAT gets universally vilified for his contract yet his NBA resume is far more impressive than Booker's.

That’s too much for a non top 10 player.
