I also wonder whether there’s a world where new kings management would entertain trading Keegan Murray. Imagine he extends in the range of Jabari Smith deal of $25mm AAV. Would be an ideal addition to our SF/PF rotation next to Paolo and Franz.
Size is why the Magic have an advantage. That trade would make the Magic one of the smaller teams in the league.

We have more shotblocking from the guard position than the majority of teams too because of Suggs and AB.

Per min:
Suggs
Black
Cole

averaged more blocks than Banchero and Carter

+ Goga and Isaac vertical defense (and lot of block chasing) is pretty much their biggest basketball strength.

Last 3 years:
Cole - 4603 min = 100 blocks
Carter - 4854 min = 102 blocks

Banchero - 6800 min for career = 114 blocks

Chet this year in 32 games had 71 blocks. Victor in rookie year 254

Heart of Magic defense is perimeter. Most teams don't even get in position to attack interior.

I don't really care about Carter, he isn't good enough to be worth defending, nor bad enough to be worth attacking. Just your mediocre starter.

Two main issues with Carter are:
1) health ,especially in combination with health of Isaac
2) vertical defense and how he never had strong playoffs. Allen and Mobley swallowed him, vs 40 years old Horford ( is he retired? ) and Luke Kornet he wasn't dominant, even got outplayed by Horford. We couldn't take advantage of Porzingis being dead body inside.

And when you look other contenders:
Rockets- Capela , Segun, Adams
Clippers- Zubac, Lopez
Knicks- Mitchell, Towns
Cavs- Mobley, Allen
Nuggets- Jokić, Val ( probably )
OKC- Chet, I Hart , Sober

all of those teams are big and gifted inside.

But yea... once you burn 80% of salary cap on 4 starters, 5th one will always be cannon fodder.

I don't disagree with any of this and I think the same type of comp among guards of those and any other good teams would favor ORL (which you alluded to). It would be even more glaring...Nobody would be close defensively except OKC

Should we get into Robert Williams sweepstake?

Lakers are reportedly interested and are leading the odds

Injury prone player? We have plenty of centers.

If Vuc get bought out, would you be ok offering him a contract so he can finish his career here?

like a 4 yrs / 32 M ?

We trade Goga to a trade exception + few 2nds to clear is 8.3 M

Bane/AB/ Jett
Franz/TDS
Paolo/JI / Panda

Heck no to a 4 year contract. I’m not interested in Vuc this offseason. Maybe next?

Goga is a completely different kind of center and value having his blocking when needed.

Vuc and Moe seem to overlap. Moe is cheaper, younger and has better chemistry with Franz. He brings an edge and an energy.

Vuc doesn’t make sense with our current personnel.

Vuc at 8m per year would be a bargain

Vuc is not a winner. It's as easy as that. He won't deliver winning basketball. Never has. So why bother... Moe doesn't have Vuc's versatility but he's Franz' bro, he causes opponents problems and he delivers to his potential. Better all round fit.

tricky. I see the appeal of having Moe, especially with Franz here.

But at the same time, replacing Moe for Vuc actually gives us a lot stronger offensive second unit.

At the moment, all we have as a table setter is Tyus Jones. And everything else revolves around him. Moe is just another play finisher. If we bring in Vuc, we have another reliable guy who can throw the ball to and let him create. Isaac will also be there to cover up Vuc on defense much like how Isaac covers Moe on defense.

In Goga’s role, Vuc will also be great on the team because having an allstar to step-in for our oft-injured starting center is valuable, he just doesn’t fit with Paolo.

So no, he’d be a great and welcome addition but I don’t think he fits long term for that amount. Especially if we can keep Moe on a cheaper deal.

He would be a back up center that can score, rebound, pass and hit 3s, that s what you want from a back up and vuc deserves to finish his career here. I m sure he would even sign here for cheaper.
