Cronin's always loved the Lakers. I've got this in the bag.

Wiggins/40 year old Bron/Luka/Ayton sounds like the most uninspiring defense that I've never seen

Almost don't want to be the team that unleashes that on the league. Does Utah have another meh trade in them?

Wiggins is dead to me after his piss poor effort on both ends, continuous gunning, and skipping the exit interviews.

I think a good strategy for Mia is to call NO and poke around on Murray. They drafted Fears so see if they want to get off Murray's ugly contract for a lowball offer like Rozier and Jaquez or something like that.

Then open it up to discussing Murphy

Dude has been one of the worst defenders on his team for years while also producing a league-worst rebounding rate among starting PFs in the NBA. I know he carries theoretical defensive upside from like 10 years ago, but I don't buy that he can/will flip the switch and suddenly play the sort of game that will complement Luka & Lebron. Rui is better at this juncture IMO.

As a perpetual laker hater, I'd like to see it tho. Tie them to paying over $100M to Grant over the next 3 seasons.

Now imagine Grant instead of Wiggins. The defense (and general hustle plays) would get discernably worse. LA would legitimately just be importing Portland's frontcourt from the first half of last season.

Portland had the 24th ranked defense in the NBA pre All-Star break. Both Grant and Ayton started the majority of games during that stretch.

Portland had the 4th ranked defense in the NBA post All-Star break. Grant and Ayton played in a combined total of ZERO of those games for Portland.

If Herro is worth 30 million then Giddey is well worth 30 million. Bulls acting real cheap here for a player that was carrying that sorry squad and almost got them into the playoffs.

Giddey is very mysterious to me still. His onball playmaking has always been his greatest strength. His 3 ball was one of the biggest questions, but he proceeded to have an encouraging shooting season at nearly 38% on 3.9 attempts per game.

BUT, his track record as a pull-up 3pt shooter is almost non-existent. He shot a respectable 35% on pull-up 3s last season, but on less than 1 such attempt per game. Over each season of his career, he has never even averaged 1 pull-up 3PA per game, and 35% was by far his high mark there.

A primary onball perimeter creator that isn't willing to let it rip when given space from 3 leads to a potentially detrimental build. Giddey does have some encouraging slashing ability that mitigates some of it, but is it enough?

Is his improvement from 3 even real or is it just a result of being extremely selective and low volume in a contract year? Passing up good looks on the perimeter is a killer for team offense.

Giddey needs to be a decent and willing onball 3 point shooter to be a value at a ~$30M per year contract imo.

I don’t think anyones said that they were always trash and never good though. Over the last 30 years Wade is easily on of the best players the league has seen, if you dropped him into a game right now he might be cooked after 10 minutes lol, things can change drastically with time.

We need to jump in there and save them both from the back and forth, send him this way for Wiggins and then they can reroute Wiggins to the Lakers for a cheaper price than we’re asking if they want.
