Nikola Jokic has informed the Nuggets he won't sign a contract extension this offseason

Lakers have not made it a secret they are making cap room for 2026.

With Jokic now verbally saying he won't sign an extension, he is fair game. You already know what time it is.

You think Jokic sucks though. That’s been your schtick for years. Why would you want him on the Lakers?

He thinks Jokic sucks because he is not on the Lakers.
This is not the first time he hopes Jokic joins the Lakers.
I think he prays every night for this to happen.

But if he signed an extension this summer with a PO. Then he'd be eligible to signing another extension in 2027. Plus he's still awhile away from 38. I think Jokic is the only player since LeBron that I think he can take over a game completely and consistently. Giannis is close. These guys will probably always get a max deal like LeBron does. At least until they decline to not making All NBA teams.

So I think the only reason to not sign an extension is because he's not 100% happy with Denver. I mean they fired their coach and let important role players walk.

I'd agree with you if this was 2015 instead of 2025. Players used to use free agency as the primary tool for player freedom. Now they just demand trades. It's so rare for contending teams to have cap room anymore. Even guys who have been unhappy have opted to sign for the most money they can.

Btw, I'm not saying Jokic is happy or unhappy in Denver. I simply disagree with his extension timing being a indicating factor.

Jokic is under contract for a few more years. If he doesn't sign it next season, I'll start having the thoughts your having. For now, IMO you're a little early. Basically I think you're an ESPN hype best gossip monger ;P

I still think Jokic stays with Denver (60% probable) but I think he re-ups a new contract in 2027. And there's a 40% chance he leaves.

Jokic and Luka are actual friends, or at least have huge respect and 'love' for each other. Dunno if they even talk often.

And, because of that, it's very unlikely that they ever get to play together. They are both primary playmakers.
