Branham did more with the Spurs and finally got the 3 point shot going last year in limited time. Why Wesley?

Branham is garbage. Wesley has solid back up PG potential.

I have no idea who is going to play center this year. The heaviest guy on the roster is Cam Whitmore.

The one guy I can think of is Timelord. The Wizards could have him for free more than likely.

Why not Holmes? Assuming we need a 5 on the roster other than Sarr.

Yeah..why not Holmes. Always plays with toughness and tenacity, especially on the boards.

Because Olynyk showed a different skill set that I think Sarr could learn from. That you can carve a solid career as a finesse Big with skill and passing and a jumper. Closer to how Sarr is starting his career.

Holmes was a tenacious rebounder in college. I was the guy shouting his name that draft year. He came into the league with that skill set. Defensive rebounding is a skill that translates from the NCAA to the NBA. But it’s not a thing most players add over their careers. Not like shooting.

Olynyk dad was a coach, mom a referee. He can instruct in the wrinkles and tricks for playing a smarter more cunning game than simply telling Sarr to get tougher. He’s not going to develop the hands that Holmes had coming in. He could develop the passing screening and high post game that KO has. Layer KOs skill set on top of Sarrs athleticism and you’d have a hell of a player.

Moot point now. But. Given that Sarr plays outside in I’d like to see him grow an effective high post skill set instead of simply hoping he gets tougher. If he does, cool, but let him get good at what he already does. You can design sets around that.

We don't need Olynyk teaching Sarr how to injure the other team and be extremely unlikable

I wasn’t replying to KO as a mentor for Sarr but to the Zards need for a big.

Seems the Wizards are loading up to do a sign-n-trade with Golden State for Kuminga.

Yup. We already have an absurd number of developing forwards on the roster. What we need is a center.

I think it's possible that the Wizards are loading up to participate in a S&T involving Kuminga, but as the 3rd team taking on salary, not as the team acquiring Kuminga.

But I think the greater likelihood is that Utah is angling to grab Kuminga. They just made the Collins trade which generated a $26M TPE. That should allow them to acquire Kuminga in a simple 2-team trade. They're probably just haggling over incentives right now.

I’d love to see them make a run at any of Sengun, Duren, Lively, Kessler, Okongwu.

Unfortunately, it looks like Detroit and Dallas have managed their cap well enough to be prepared to pay their centers when they come up for their new contracts. It makes them less likely to be traded or poached.
