Earned it, such a solid all around player who way exceeded any expectations. Great find by Presti & team

OKC’s dynasty will last as long as ownerships allows it to.

all 3 now done. Starting in a year Presti will show us his cap manipulation skills to keep this together.

It probably wont be anythingh that complicated as shai extension doesnt kick in yet until the 27 season

2026, keep the team together

2027/2028 consider moving on from harstentein, if sorbet looks ready to contribute in the post season

Trade or let walk your prefereded choice/choices out of caruso as he ages, wiggins, joe to save money

Keep Dort as a team culture leader but listen to offers if it looks like you need to cut costs

Try to retain cason wallace if he looks capable of replacing dort or caruso full time and hope 1/2out of the ajay/topic duo develops

Well earned. Absolutely one of my favorite players in the league.

Hartenstein, Caruso and Joe are probably pretty easy guys to move on from for what they make.

I’d be hesitant to move Dort, he plays a lot of minutes, is one of the best wing defenders in the league who can truly switch on to just about anyone, stretches the floor and is in the cores age timeline.

In the interim, keep drafting at least 1 player a year to hopefully replace one of those outgoing .

They had to do it and OKC won't regret it since SGA is that good.

Not necessarily a Max guy on his own but a solid 2nd fiddle with plenty of room to continue to grow and develop.

Pretty easy call.

Better all-around player than Paolo (and IMO Chet as well)
Healthier than Chet (and Paolo as well).

Not a 1st option level of offense-creator but a good 2nd option and does everything else. Should be a top-20 player during that contract (possibly pushing in to the top-10 as he's still young). At 30% that's a bargain.

I have them at $210,190,144 below the 2nd apron in 26/27 picking up the Dort, Topic and Wallace options and declining Hartenstein/Kendich Williams. So about 12mm below the 2nd apron with 12 players under contract.

Long term, if they are resetting the team around 3 max guys, they won’t be to keep the depth they currently have, but their guys are on moveable deals and they have picks.

I think you plan on going over the second apron one year and then dipping below it. Would expect that to be the trend for contenders.. OKC is a bit different though as they really can afford to deal with the pick penalties that come with being over the second apron as long as Presti keeps delaying other team picks..

OKC will also have a full bench of first round pick contracts throughout these 5 years so depth will be cheap and a chance depth is really good if Presti drafts well.

This was an easy call. And it would be great for OKC if he doesn’t make all NBA.. also would be great if he does.

So three max's is doable? Lots of complaints about how restrictive the new CBA is and how difficult it is to hold teams together, here OKC has basically done that.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Any team can Max 3 guys. OKC is going to get into salary cap issues in 2027-2028.

OKC is going to be heavily reliant on rookie-scale contributions in the next couple of years.

It's 35% + 30% + 26%. It's a huge difference from that to the Sixers, for example, who have 35% + 35% + 30% or the Suns who had three 35% max contracts in 24-25.

Apparently JDub’s escalator is smaller unless he’s 1st team All NBA

Spotrac has 26/27/30% escalators.

Pretty interesting compromise by both sides.

This should have been in the CBA IMO, 3rd team all NBA 26%, 2nd team, 28% and the full 30 are for 1st team, MVP and DPOY.
