Great article by Grange. The young guys are taking the offseason and summer league really seriously and Jamal Shead is clearly the leader. It’s reminding me of the bench mob days. Guys working out together and having mini training camps throughout the offseason to build that chemistry. I love that they aren’t afraid to say they are taking summer league seriously and they want to win. I think we are going to have a really good group of young players in the future and I’m looking forward to this summer league for sure. I believe in all these guys

I take it all with a big grain of salt - It's really the message the FO wants to project after 2 awful seasons and a change at the top - Summer league will inform us very little.

Why though? We legit have one of the better summer league teams. How this chemistry transitions into the regular season is to be seen, though.

Yea I didn’t get that comment. I don’t understand what needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The players working out together and having these mini training camps since April is great to hear. Grange interviewed Shead and Ja’Kobe so it’s coming out the sources mouth. It’s not like he’s just making it up. It will only help not hurt their chemistry and growth. That has nothing to do with summer league. We all know summer league doesn’t tell you much. I’m just excited to see the guys play, I don’t see what’s wrong with that lol. And how this young group is moving is very similar to how our bench mob moved in the past and we know how that worked out. Of course they have to prove it when the season starts but having optimism seems to bother people on this board way too much for me.

I'm surprised you guys don't get it - a couple of years ago we got all that stuff about the team working/hanging out together, showing up to support the guys in summer league etc. and it all added up to bupkus. Same thing every spring training in baseball, guys in best shape of life, showing up to camp early, new pitch, new batting stance etc. and it mostly adds up to bupkus - I will await the regular season to see any signs for optimism.

Okay and. Sometimes these things lead to winning and sometimes they don’t, that’s the nature of sports. You do you. I choose to be optimistic right now because what they’re doing is a good thing. It definitely won’t hurt. It worked in the past for the bench mob and it worked for Pacers and OKC, two teams that work out and hang out a lot in the offseason together. Pascal had the whole Pacers team working out at his home gym last summer. I’m not afraid to be optimistic about the team I’m a fan of and if it doesn’t work out oh well. You learn from it and get better the next year. I know that concept is crazy to some on this board lol

Didn’t FVV/Poeltl/Norm/Siakam all do pretty well in the summer league?

I don’t remember how Malachi/Precious did..but this group is definitely eons better than the poo poo platter 2 years ago

Beringer for the Wolves is what we needed in terms of a backup C. He won't even touch the court for them.

I mean it's obviously not true. But these guys aren't bodybuilders, so they won't say stuff that's technically correct. If a guy puts on 12 lbs with some of it being muscle, they just say they put on 12 lbs of muscle instead of saying they put on 12 lbs with some of it being muscle, fat, water retention lol

He probably put on 12 lbs of mass, 5-7 lbs of muscle at max.

Beringer continuing on what he showed on tape. He's gonna be a good one. Has all the physical traits but he's got a great motor.

Really not that hard at that age.

Especially when they tend to lose weight during season.

10-15 pounds of gains is the ritual around here. Almost every summer some player comes back Jacked. Last year it was Dick
