Would Memphis take on Derozan?

Post#1 » by Mambomuziki » Thu Jul 10, 2025 7:58 am

This is in regards to the Kings doing a S&T for Kuminga.
Trade proposal as follows:
Memphis send outs:

Cole Anthony
Konchar
Memphis 2nd round pick Via Sac 2028
2028 1st round least favourable of Kings and GS swap

Memphis receives:
Favourite of GSW,SAC 1st rnd pick 2028
Demar Derozan

For Memphis they get a vet and another scorer after losing Bane. Salary relief for the following year as DD is non guaranteed. They bet on the Kings and GS being bad to get a high end pick.

Kings Sends out:
Demar Derozan
Keon Ellis
Devon Carter
2028 1st round pick swap 2nd least favourable of GS and Memphis

Kings receives:
Cole Anthony
Kuminga via S&T
2028 swap between GS & Memphis
Gets their 2nd round pick back

Kings clears $$$ to sign JK and also create a favourable roster construction moving Keegan to the 3 and JK at the 4.

GSW sends out:
JK on S&T
2028 1st round pick swap

GS receives:
Keon Ellis
Devon Carter
2028 least favourable 1st round pick

For GS they resolve the JK issue and get a great defender who can start as SG. Get a back up PG with defensive potential and upside. Clear money for flexibility.

The pick compensations can be tweaked if necessary.

Discussed so many times here. The answer from Memphis fans was always firm no. In any form, at any price.

Zero interest from sac. This is awful. Keon, carter, a swap, and a 2nd?

Im really trying to figure out when a s&t has ever returned something like this. Im ready to move on from kuminga. I hope the warriors pay him and hes stuck there as a bad contract on a team that clearly has no plans for him. Let them make the mistake.

No. We cannot take on salary with a Cole trade, we have to shed at least something like 7m of Cole's deal, either in trade or a stretch and waive.

They shouldn't, DDR is a shooting guard who can't shoot or guard. The ultimate oxymoron

No. Memphis has a smart front office and wants to win.
