One of my buddies came up with "Big Trouble" for Portland's Yang Hansen.

Far from the best, but worth mentioning: in Brazil, "Nene" Hilario (DEN, WAS), Rafael "Baby" Araujo (TOR, UTA) and Lucas "Bebê" Nogueira (TOR) all had nicknames that translated to "baby"

Magic is the best nickname ever. We call him by his nickname and not his real name. Most people don’t even know his real name.

This nickname hits close to me. I was in middle school and me and the boys used to always go to the park down the street to hoop. One day we see a couple of old heads there and they challenged us to a game. Me and my boys were all on the basketball team at school and these guys were about 30 or so at the time. We were able to hang with them and all they had was strength but we had the speed. It was game point and we had the rock. I am not making this up lol. I literally Allen Iversoned someone and made him fall to the ground, from the ground he's shouting at me and daring me to "shoot it." I pulled up and it was nothing but net. Game was over. Of course they started talking ish later saying we got lucky but after that, they started calling me the "Microwave."

I had no idea what it meant then, but now I know it was Vinnie "The Microwave" Johnson. I like that nickname just from childhood ball at the local park.

Every letter and number fits. And plus hes Russian.

Quoting a post from 2021 here, but Kirilenko is not just Russian, he's actually from the very city the AK47 was first manufactured - Izhevsk.

It really is a perfect nickname.

It's already been mentioned. Here's some more context.

Chuck Person aka "The Rifleman" He was a long distance "shooter" back in the day. Had great "Curry like" range. Asked about his range by a reporter, he said he was open when he stepped off the bus.

His mom liked the TV show The Rifleman. Starring actor Chuck Connors, so she named him Chuck Connors Person.

Chuck Connor's amazingly played for the NBA Boston Celtic, the MLB Brooklyn Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs, before becoming a actor. He was drafted by the NFL Chicago Bears, but never played for them. He had to be a incredible athlete. He was the first NBA player to break a glass backboard. I watched the Rifleman reruns with my Dad all the time when I was a kid.

He had that nickname in college too, at Georgetown. Maybe in high school too, not sure? Watching Sleepy Floyd on tv playing at Georgetown was one of the things that got me into basketball. That was back when the Big East was a second tier conference, but Georgetown changed all that and then the whole conference really took off.

St Johns and Syracuse started getting good around then too. I remember watching a guy named Marty Headd at Syracuse... he was fun to watch. I thoght about him and looked him up years ago and found this: https://dailyorange.com/2009/03/no-complaints-marty-headd-was-a-basketball-star-at-syracuse-nearly-30-years-ago-now-he-works-here-as-a-janitor/

"Lunch Lady" is one of my new favorites. Just recently learned that it belongs to Kelly Olynyk. Perfectly fitting for him.
