Just fnished up H section. Lucked out - most of the snow melted off. Trail was really well maintained. It was nice. The bugs however were not nice. Though it was expected with the melt off. Views were spectacular:

I need ro hit the West coast one day. Bucket list.

Whats dope about Washington is its a very diverse state. The peninsula is vastly different then the east side. A lot to do if you fck with nature.

Nature? It ain't natural to hang out there without buildings and electricity!

Have you heard that? Watching that video was so disconcerting because I'm like "damn, I'm pretty sure I have and didn't think anything of it."

The first time i heard that video my skin crawled. I recalled this one night getting pissed at a dumb ''bird'' for chirping by my tent.

Other than that I've heard that noise at least a handful of times since. Its chilling. Id rather run into black bears than cougars.

Though tbh wolves probably worry me the most. Theyre huge, roll deep sometimes, and smart af. They treed a park ranger a few years back up in the north cascades.


All that will change though once they reintroduce grizzlies.

He killed a bunch of this dude's sheep and they went and relocated his **** pack." Cats (and grizzlies) are more likely to just be having a bad day and throw caution to the wind.

The thing that spooks me most about cats is that... I know I've had some encounters where I've not seen or heard them. I just see a print or scat and suddenly realize I am in their presence. Dogs and bears are like "yo, we're here" with the latter usually running away loudly and the former yipping to make everyone aware of the situation.

Mrs. O and I once turned back about a half mile from an amazing summit between Rainier and Goat Rocks for that reason. We were being watched.

I definitely fck with nature. There's a lot of beautiful nature spaces here in NY and on LI but, too many damn people! Too damn expensive. I still prefer the northeast over the southeast though. Just wanna get over to the left coast and travel the PCH from one end to the other.

The beach/coast culture is so different. First off, the water's too cold to swim without a wetsuit most places north of SoCal. But second, most is free. My uncle has a place in LI and was bragging that he has a pass to one of the exclusive beaches out there and I must have looked at him like I'd had an aneurysm.
