But Chris Paul is one of the greatest passers/playmakers in the history of the sport.

Jase is short and doesn't appear to have high end point guard skills, which is going to make things far more challenging for him long-term.

I meant that just being short should not stop him from reaching his potential. It up to him and if he grows. Could then be a solid bench player.

It does matter though.

Like at 6'1" 180 or whatever Jase is, it's going to be hard for him to consistently get on the floor at any position other than point guard.

Now the Magic are uniquely positioned with a ton of size, but there's just not many 6'1" shooting guards in the NBA.

Penda is good....he has good size and instincts on defense....offensively you can see something is there, but it's not yet pieced together just yet....got to rep out that jumper

Wing-hub offense in action: Penda and TDS combine for 9 assists.

Wemby had a bad first game but was great in his rookie season. I'm just curious about Flagg because I didn't watch college ball.

Edit
Flagg is a whole year younger than Paolo was.

Jase is better on defense and more efficient on offense.

My takeaways from game 1:

Jace is a good player with insane savvy and basketball IQ. He shoots it well and plays within himself. He can crack the rotation this year and is built to be a quality role player. He was an absolute menace doing to Devin Carter what Devin Carter did to guys in college. He absolutely locked him up.

TDS looked like the most talented player on the floor, which he should. He's gotta be in the rotation this season.

Penda is a work in progress, but I can see the vision. He's a tank and a quality defender, but he has to work in his jumper if he wants to stick in the league.

Raynaud played really well and despite it only being one game, I still kind of wish we had picked him. He is a really good, modern big man who has starter upside IMO.

Crutcher and Skal looked good in stretches. Hopefully they come out next game and keep it up. I could see them getting 2-ways. Ethan Thompson can shoot, but he's a black hole on offense and a turnstile on defense.

I understand it is only one game, but most of the above is more confirming what I already believed.

Feel pretty good about what TDS and the rookies showed.

Jeff said Penda the last two years has been making big leaps. If he can continue that and figure his shot out.

He doesn’t miss by much so it seems promising.

I was actually a bit shocked at how bad Devin Carter looked from a skill perspective. Obviously it's just one game in a meaningless summer setting, but the shot creation and shot making combo just looked so rough and that's coming off a rookie season where it also looked horrible.

He's strong and physical and plays with huge effort which will get him minutes, but I dunno - you usually want more than that out of a lotto pick.

Based on typical Magic over reaction on SL...

We shouldve gotten Reynaud!!! No need for those extra draft picks for Noah

He looked really good late last season in the G-League too. I think Jace really locked him up tonight.

Yes. At point guard.

(And he was terrible every year of his career but one, but that's besides the point)

Did Penda's jumper look bad? I didn't see much of the game beyond the first quarter. First three attempt from him looked good and it rimmed out.

Penda's archetype is far more valuable than Reynaud's IMO.
