I wonder if Tyson is switching numbers, since Proctor is wearing #24 in the Vegas.

I think I saw that he was switching to #20, which he wore in college.

Good call, because Niang had 20 last season.toooskies wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:I wonder if Tyson is switching numbers, since Proctor is wearing #24 in the Vegas.

Nance Jr initially wore 24 with us too, wonder if his dad allows him to wear 22 again.

How about Tomlin with 30 points but also 9 fouls? lol
It sucks CPJ hurt his hammy 7 minutes in. My vote is for a vet PG now, in our final roster spot (since we leave #15 open).

No idea how bad the hammy is, but it should be better by camp.

Hopefully but i feel it just shows, with Garland most likely not ready bc of surgery, Lonzo playing a combined 70 games in 4 seasons, and then CPJ.toooskies wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:How about Tomlin with 30 points but also 9 fouls? lol

Cavs need some insurance at point. Mitchell can run it but may put wear and tear on him, which we're trying to avoid. In a pinch Proctor probably could too.
But yeah, I'd probably lean PG in that final slot.

Mitchell, Strus, Tyson, Proctor should all be able to bring the ball up the court even if they're not ideal setup guys. I'd rather not bother addressing regular season contingencies when postseason contingencies matter a lot more.
I mean, pick up Brogdon or Fultz or Delon Wright if you see a hypothetical contingency they fill in the postseason. But otherwise, maybe Tomlin's worth promoting if there isn't a playoff guy.

But they're not addressing post season contingencies in July. Cavs are just trying to make it to April, as healthy as possible.toooskies wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Hopefully but i feel it just shows, with Garland most likely not ready bc of surgery, Lonzo playing a combined 70 games in 4 seasons, and then CPJ.toooskies wrote:No idea how bad the hammy is, but it should be better by camp.

Especially Koby, he does not worry about post season until the 11th hour, every season.
January 2022 trades for Rondo
February 2022 trades for LeVert
March 2022 signed Moses Brown
February 2023 signed Danny Green
March 2023 signed Merrill
February 2024 converted CPJ
March 2024 signed Marcus Morris
February 2025 traded for Hunter
February 2025 signed J. Green
April 2025 signed Okeke

He also arguably had to worry more about the regular season in past years.
A lot of these guys were too-little-too-late signings. I'd rather find that out in November than April or May. Particularly since we'll be limited in the moves we're allowed to make due to the aprons.

Well, me too. I've been saying every summer since i joined RGM to fill spot 15 by October and we never do lol the past 2 years spot 14 has went to T-Top which is a complete waste, hope we don't do that again.toooskies wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:But they're not addressing post season contingencies in July. There's talk that the Pacers could waive Bradley and that just seems crazy to me. Altman should be all over that.

Never noticed this guy but seems to be a per36 and on/off monster, got a 7'6" wingspan too; but he doesn't shoot 3's so what use is he to Indiana?

It's just because they re-signed Jackson and Wiseman. Plus traded for Huff. Siakam will be their small ball 5.jbk1234 wrote:There's talk that the Pacers could waive Bradley and that just seems crazy to me. Altman should be all over that.
Bradley likely is buried on their bench.
Bradley to me is just Damian Jones 2.0. If we want to put him in spot 14 on a non-guaranteed deal until January, fine with me. In the hypothetical, we can waive him in January and reevaluate.

He held his own against Mitchell Robinson for many, many minutes in the ECF.

Tiny sample though. He didn't play in game 1 or game 6 of the series, less than 10 MPG, in the 4 games he played.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:It's just because they re-signed Jackson and Wiseman. Again, he's a Damian Jones level player.

As they advanced in the playoffs, he started getting minutes over Bryant because he was more effective. The idea that Damian Jones could've lasted two minutes against Robinson let alone ten seems absurd.

I'm talking over both of their careers here, not a 4 game sample.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Tiny sample though. He didn't play in game 1 or game 6 of the series, less than 10 MPG, in the 4 games he played.jbk1234 wrote:

He played 11 games in the Pacers playoff run and averaged 7 mpg. Four of those games were in the ECF (9+ mpg) and three were in the Finals (7+mpg). This is the exact type of backup center the Cavs have needed when Allen starts to get worn down in the playoffs. If the Pacers are foolish enough to cut him loose after picking up his option, Altman needs to jump on it.
Heck the Cavs need a backup physical big to bring in regardless.

I just don't think he's that. Again, due to sample size.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:I'm talking over both of their careers here, not a 4 game sample.jbk1234 wrote:

He has an entire career of just sitting on the bench.
I'm fine with giving him a non-guaranteed deal if/when the Pacers cut him. He has to be more playable than Tristan Kardashian.
Heck, I'd rather have DeAndre Jordan over either of them though, tbh.

Bradley is 27. DAJ is 36 and washed.
