Toronto isn't trading IQ, unless it's for a PG upgrade.

He’s easily one of the worst contracts in the league.

Maybe, but that's kind if irrelevant as he's their starting PG. He's overpaid, but not bad.

Sorry for trying to correct misinformation and educate people on how the CBA actually works. There was no ChatGPT/generative AI used. I've read the CBA, and I extracted and explained the relevant clauses. If you'd rather just read the CBA, here it is: https://imgix.cosmicjs.com/25da5eb0-15eb-11ee-b5b3-fbd321202bdf-Final-2023-NBA-Collective-Bargaining-Agreement-6-28-23.pdf.
Thanks, so how much can we take back combining Kuzma and Ajax?

All caveats about Doc aside, it’s a confirmation against the national punditry when he describes KPJ like this:
Even the more respected media sources like Zach Lowe are assuming the Bucks are desperate for backcourt help and will obviously take any of the veteran fossils spurned by fancier markets.
But with Doc emphasizing KPJ’s coming leap as well as his and Giannis’ ability to play PG, maybe not.
“Of all the guys on our team, he’s going to have the biggest jump this year.”

KPJ is such a talented dude as long as he gets playing time he’s going to put up numbers for us. Just need them to be as close to as efficient as he was for us last year

Maybe Kuminga is a chucker tweener who doesn’t use his athleticism to play defense and wouldn’t be worth the assets and dollars to upgrade from Kuzma.
Or maybe he’s just too valuable for the Bucks to acquire.
But I could also see Horst acting the silent assassin showing yet again that Shams ain’t got ish on him.
Kuminga aside — whatever we do won’t leak based on recent history, regardless of the insider assertions.

“The Warriors have not made a move yet this offseason because a lot of what they’re going to do, or trying to do, hinges on his restricted free agency,” said ESPN’s Shams Charania on SiriusXM. “Does he come back on a deal? Or are you signing and trading him? That’s held up their movement over the offseason. You have a full NBA team whose actions have been held up so far because they’re waiting on that. “The three teams that have had a level of interest in Jonathan Kuminga this offseason: the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls, the Sacramento Kings. But having an interest and getting a deal done [are] two totally different things. Nothing quite yet there. We’re still a ways away from that.”

I hate that we resigned Prince, there are a million guys who can hit standstill wide open 3s at high % and play probably better defense than him. I also have pretty high anxiety that Kuzma and Prince are starting again.

Prince is fine as long as him and Kuz are splitting whatevers left at backup 3 and 4.
We don't really have anybody else. It'd be nice if Tyler Smith showed a bit more so we can hope to slot him in there but that's probably not happening.

I’m going to go full optimist and decide to believe that for whatever reason, Doc (and staff) see the light of playing younger and quicker and have shifted to the correct philosophical system of: put ball in Giannis hands and surround him with shooters that can defend a bit.
All moves made seem to suggest that organizationally this is the agreed upon path. Dames presence causing passive and sharing Giannis, goodbye. Best possible front court mate for Giannis and this style, come on down. The entire core of our good lineup from last playoffs, you are staying.
Guys like Prince and Harris being on the roster don’t challenge this vision. Every single team has a few back of bench vets as insurance and they have utility in a long NBA season. I actually have faith that the days of comically large, NFL offensive line looking ass starting lineup are over.
Prince as a 10th man, backup 3/4 with a good amount of DNP-CD while being a good solider and available when dudes are out is a perfectly fine use of a roster sport at a perfectly reasonable (good) cost for that role.

Even if we only win 45 games again, I think it could be a fun year. Faster team, Giannis putting up video game stats, some promise from KPj, etc

Tempered expectations are so underrated when it comes to being a sports fan. One of my favorite Bucks teams was 03-04. We were predicted to be bottom 5 but blew away expectations. Ford/Mase/Redd were so much fun.

Inside info alert.....
Spoke to someone connected yesterday. All I have to share is
"The player(s) you think should be moved, will be moved" The only reason I post is because the guy is connected and I trust him.
But...i still take it with a grain of salt nonetheless.
As I read this back to myself. It really provides little info other than encouragement that Kuzma will be moved.

It was extremely encouraging. I think many assume kpj's play down the stretch was a fluke or the result of late season defense but ive staunchly maintained that a lightbulb went off for him. Now we have some evidence to suggest why that happened.
I also think it was a matter of him finding his rhythm again.
Doc could also be saying all this, in part, as posturing. If they are in trade talks for another guard, we are at a disadvantage if they think we are desperate. So he presents a comfortable and excited mindset.
Who knows.

So Giannis for Harrison Barnes and the Spurs 2183 1st confirmed?

Turner having his press conference later today. We'll finally get to hear from Horst too.
The Bucks are holding an introductory press conference for Myles Turner tomorrow, July 11, at 2pm PT during the Summer League in Vegas.
Turner will be joined by Bucks GM Jon Horst & HC Doc Rivers, marking the team's first formal introduction of an acquired player since pre-2020.
