I'll miss the heck out of Brook but I'm really looking forward to seeing Turner and Giannis in the same lineup.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I wonder if we should wait for when Jaylen Brown asks for a trade.

Agreed.

But possible Doc/Horst think we got enough to take us through the deadline?

We’ll know a lot more by then who did and didn’t develop and how they fit. And we’d be able to trade some more guys who aren’t Kyle Kuzma to fill the gap.

Derozans contract is only partially guaranteed at 10mil next year, meaning we could take him and draft capital and turn that package into something pretty interesting, and get Ellis who would be a steal

If this were true, Sacramento would have done it already. They're reportedly pretty desperate to be rid of him but can't find any takers.

I think Vassell is the best basketball fit.

Im not sure how to get him, which is probably why we never discuss him.

Maybe the Kings have moved on but until Russ is off the market they got time to do some kind of trade for Kuzma or whoever to open space:

Sam Amick: The sense I had gotten was that the Kings and Scott (Perry) have a lot of affinity for Russ, without question. But the backcourt is already pretty crowded, and there was concern about making it even worse. So I’ve certainly been leaning in the direction of thinking that’s not going to happen. Nothing has changed roster-wise to alter the logjam that a move like that would create. I mean, we know they’ve been active, but it’s obviously been pretty quiet recently.”

My current roster round-out build mood:

Starters

Rollins
Trent
Andrew Wiggins [add]
Giannis
Turner

Key Reserves

Porter
Green
Prince
Bobby

General Bench

De’Anthony Melton [add]
Harris
Alec Burks [add]
Smith
Sims

Deep Bench

Empty or Bogoljub Markovic or Caleb Houstan or Brandon Boston Jr. or Amir Coffey or Jeremiah Robinson-Earl or Bol Bol or Kai Jones or Alex Len

— — — —
Bucks target and sign De’Anthony Melton & Alec Burks to minimum deals to shore up the depth at PG & SF. Melton brings more Point-of-Attack defense with the ability to handle the ball and stretch the court on O. Burks is essentially a Prince replacement if needed; lots of similar abilities though he possessing more of a mid-range game and likely can provide better perimeter defense while not offering as much in post-up situations.

Bucks package Kyle Kuzma & Andre Jackson Jr. w/ cascading 1st round draft pick swaps in ‘26 & ‘28 for Andrew Wiggins. Heat do this deal to save between $3.6M-$5.8M this year & $7.4M-$9.8M next year. In total they’d save anywhere between $11M-$15.6M between this year & next year. On top of that they increase their odds for an improved 1st round draft pick this coming year as well as in 2028. Wiggins is a more consistently competent player and should be noticeably more reliable on the defensive end.

Finally, if Bogoljub ends up playing overseas I like the idea of adding a developmental forward or center or a vet center with size who could see some minutes in specific matchups/emergency (Alex Len).

Not sure if it’s more matter of factly or principle but giving up draft capital to acquire Andrew Wiggins feels like bad business. Unless you’re Jon Horst and you’re up at night losing sleep, there’s really no justification for it. I loathe the idea that we’re truly the suckers every trade we make, we’d certainly be the suckers here.

He started 73/80 games last year...We didn't acquire anyone new that is guaranteed starter minutes. I think it's crazy to assume Doc won't have him in the starting lineup game 1.

Video coordinator needs to be cutting all kinds of Boris Diaw tape for Kuz in case we don't trade him. That's who he should be trying to emulate, not Giannis.

KPJ is definitely starting. Until there's a trade that changes it, he's the 2nd option now. A Wiggins trade would not change that.

KPJ
Trent
Wiggins
Giannis
Turner

would be awesome as long as we aren't giving up anything too good for Wiggins.

UPDATE :

I reached out for clarification.

- The DJT of the Bucks said no names but insinuated Kuz.

- The roster is certainly not set and that player mentioned above is on the move.

If Kuz is on the roster on opening night. flame away!

Probably not....

This connection is straight to the top however. If I hear anything I will share.

I know how much I love hearing from others on here about inside info, especially if it's not personal or reputation damaging. So I'll try and share anything interesting that's thrown my way.

Wiggins & KPJ being the same as last year gives us a legitimate chance to win the East. I'd definitely give up the 31 1st for him. Try to protect it top 5 but still I'm doing it unprotected.

Turner
Giannis
Wiggins
Trent/AJG
KPJ

That is nasty defensive lineup and should be enough offense. Everyone is 6'4 or taller and long wingspans, tons of steals/deflections in that lineup.

Certainly a high chance of KPJ starting, but from a unit fit perspective I’ve begun to lean towards him coming off the bench in order to have more of an impact. Essentially, his creation/playmaking ability *might* be more beneficial to the team’s consistency when coming off the bench; particularly, when leading the 2nd unit.

Agree on Wiggins. He should be a beneficial upgrade and the Bucks should pull the trigger if it doesn’t cost too much to acquire him. I laid out what I think the Bucks should send out in a deal for him. If Miami is prioritizing cap space then that plays into the Bucks favor in a trade negotiation. I’m definitely opposed to the Bucks offing their ‘31 or ‘32 1sts for him though.

Awesome, thanks for the update!

Was your source in the know about the Myles Turner signing by chance? Did you talk about that?

We might have to get rid of the Bucks back pack and replace it with a Bucks ceiling fan now for the new Bat Signal when we need the scoop!

while i agree with what you're saying about KPJ, i think you're overthinking it. we can simply stagger Giannis and KPJ as we did with Dame to accomplish the same goals.

That’s a fun comp, Diaw was a sneaky good athlete (vertically but also strong in the base). Kuz has a bit of that size speed ratio, in lesser amounts. Diaw as I remember was also a creative passer. Not much of the modern NBA game runs through the high post. I guess my blueprint for Kuz would be, maybe Carlos Boozer? Meaning screen and roll, pick and pop, defend adequately and then rebound like a beast, don’t get cute. I feel if Kuz was the modern basketball version of that, he’d be a more valuable contributor. I get weary of the wild drives and weak finishes. Also no excuse for a pro with his body and background to not shoot standstill threes at a higher percentage.
