PS the minutes police were 100% correct and it was not about just playing Kolek. When the guy you just traded 5 FRPs for said something it validated everything. Also, Kolek should have played more.

Thibs bench usage was a joke. It's part of why he's gone. Don't let your opinion get in the way of the truth.

mikal is a pussy so i'm not really surprised he was whining. our stars (KAT and jalen) didn't mind the burn. the problem was clearly that the offense wasn't clicking or making KAT's and jalen's lives any easier because thibs let them freelance

Mike is here now. Clearly it was more than Mikal who had a problem with Thibs.

Actual history has both Brunson and KAT talking about the minutes and being exhausted long before Mikal said a word. Hart also frequently made comments about the minutes. Once Mikal said something everyone got on his case.

KAT was injured playing too many minutes late in a Chicago game that was over before he got hurt. That injury lingered.

Hart was dealing with overuse injury in his knee and tore his abdomen last year.

OG had a non contact injury playing the most minutes of his career. He looked cooked in January.

Our entire starting 5 was in the top 20 of minutes played. No other team had anything close. It cost us wins in the regular season when teams were openly stating they game planned to beat us late on tired legs. Losing teams used this strategy against us. It came back to haunt us in the playoffs because we had no chemistry with the bench and Thibs couldn't adjust to get wins.

Anyway. I'm hoping and praying Mike Brown does nothing close to what Thibs did. The entire industry was talking and laughing and mocking him for it, but Mikal is a pussy? No.

Edit: just saw the GONYK post.

Discussion is over. Minutes police were 100% correct. Welcome to NYK Coach Brown!

God forbid a few players in their athletic primes play 36-37 minutes per game. Poor things

Yes Go! Give us more of this!
Brown is still hungry! He had great mentors and role models.

"no class -no balls!"
that was funny...get'em Malone...

We've got to save this quote for the next time somebody does something really awful. "No Class, No Balls!" - best thing Malone said.

People acting like our guys were playing 48 minutes a night  By the end of it all we were a) healthier than every other team and, b) matching or out matching the energy of our opponents in the post season, so who gives a sh*t? The minutes pearl clutching was mostly people who never liked Thibs or dumbos who get their information from ESPN graphics. He had his wrinkles for sure, but the minutes stuff was laughably overblown

it's a game of inches man,
It doesn't matter how much they play, as long as they play way more than their opponent then they're at a disadvantage, and to be a champion you've got to min-max. And that's one/the main of the way thibs failed against a less talented team.

Brown wants to play fast. To do that you need a long rotation that has rebounding, d and speed. starters:
jb, bridges, og, kat and mitch
bench: clarkson, deuce, hart, yabasele and Huk
situational: dadiet and tyler.
Pressure ball fullcourt to reduce slow starts and wear opponent down. no one plays more than 35 min, quick decision making with constant ball and player movement, kat gets lotsa touches for 3s, og and bridges need to move more and play fewer minutes, jb cant walk up or hold the ball. That’s the Brown plan.

playing faster means you have to play more the bench... 28 mins in a uptempo style is like 38-42 in a Thibs system

We have only 4 reliable reserves, but I really like Kolek as a contributor, also Huk

lol so we can’t even get ham either.

Mike Brown continues to search for a lead assistant for his Knicks coaching staff.

As The Stein Line first reported in both cases, New York wanted New Orleans' James Borrego or Milwaukee's Darvin Ham for the role. Neither, though, appears available. The Pelicans and Bucks are happy to let Borrego and Ham interview for head coaching openings but have not granted permission to speak with New York for what those teams see as a lateral move.

Another candidate known to be on Brown's wish list — Jay Triano — is also unavailable to the Knicks. Triano was Brown's associate head coach in Sacramento but just inked a new deal to join Jason Kidd's staff in Dallas alongside fellow front-of-bench newcomers Frank Vogel and Popeye Jones.

It’s already bad enough we have to settle for Mike brown since we didn’t have any sort of plan to replace Thibs. But now we can’t even get a lead assistant. It’s incredible lol

Does it, though?? :dontknow:

Just about anybody would be an upgrade from the associate head coach we had this past season.
