But, ehh it's the Summer League, so very little which occurs matters after all.

Actually I had him 41st. But the 29-45 range ion my board was interchangeable.

After some additional research I've done after the draft, I probably would've had him like 27-37 range.

Agreed
1/11/24 The birth of a new Hal. From now on being less combative, avoiding confrontation - like Switzerland :)

Koby Brea looks like a absolute legit shooter.. He doesn't look anywhere near his listed 6 foot 7 height. But he's going to turn out to be a good one.

Coach for phoenix said before the game he wants Maluach shooting 5 to 6 3s this game?? Why?? He is your 7 foot 1 center. Who should be near the rim to have vertical spacing and rebounding. But instead he's floating on the outside and has already shot 5 3 pointers in one half. All wide open and all absolute bricks with horrible mechanics on top of it..

There are so many stupid people in the. N b a with stupid philosophies.

Sorry but not **** sorry.

After Scheierman's lousy opener...

Mogbo had 15pts (7/8 FG) for Toronto in 20 minutes
Kyle Filiposwki had like 30pts for Utah

Was disappointed when Brad took Baylor over Flip.

Even JT was mentioning Flip on draft night.

First impression is Gonzalez is as advertised

Another interesting comp is a tall TJ Mconell which would be a starter and excellent player in the league

J Walsh has yet to prove he can shoot or play consistently. At age 21 though, I want to see him for a little longer however. But he needs to keep stepping up his game.

It’s sometimes easy to forget that guys like Baylor and Pritchard were still in college at Walsh’s age. Walsh is about 3.5 years younger than Walsh and they are both raw but on very different levels of experience. One would expect guys like Pritchard and Baylor to be more polished from day one being much older rookies.

I feel like Walsh is a somewhat deep draft pick that Stevens really wants to “get right”. They’ve invested a lot of time into him and maybe Stevens is just desperate to see one of his picks work out but yeah. The kid still looks raw out there but it’s pretty much to be expected

I especially like Adam's description of Hugo's game here: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/07/11/sports/boston-celtics-nba-summer-league/

Impressive. Would have taken quite a bit to get up in the top 15 to take him, and Portland was mocked for snagging him when tehy did. The kid just turned 20 too.

Nice win.

Bassey was clearly our best player today. Walsh and Hugo were solid. Hugo can drive to the basket with either hand as he showed on that one play. He drove with his left hand and passed with is left hand for an assist.

Some of you are like in jr high. Lay off Lofton. The dude hustles and plays hard. He has a lot of talent. I said a few days ago, if there is any chance he can make the team, the Australians would do wonders for him.

Baylor was solid too, his shots didn't go in.

Wow. That was a pain to watch. No real PG. No real system on offense. Everyone's playing too fast and a little bit out of control. Everyone going out to do business for themselves.

That said, Bassey is impressive and I'd like him to be our third big over Amari and X. Not too worried about Scheierman's shot. He's gonna get better looks in a real NBA game.

Hugo... wow. Missed 3 free throws in a row but also hit 3 threes. His defense and energy is as good as advertised. Showing glimpses of being a good playmaker as long as he's not the primary ballhandler bringing up the ball.

Walsh's shot seems to have improved and I like his drives even if he didn't convert.

Shulga, Amari, pretty meh.

Several GMs are going to be fired if he turns out to be the Jokic of this Draft...

I saw Yang play in FIBA.

He's no Jokic.

Based on the Summer League, Brad should have kept 32 and taken Liam from Connecticut...

Just watched the game. Few observations:

-I like Hugo. He has really good feel for the game, hustles hard, can handle the ball some but definitely room for improvement there. Athleticism is good too, shot doesnt look terrible. As someone else said, he looks a bit smaller than expected, more like a 2 guard than a wing. I actually could see the Ginobili comparison. I think he will be a rotation player at minimum in his career.

-Rico’s performances in the summer league arent great for a reason imo. Since its a very chaotic and individualistic style of basketball, his athletic deficits get exposed and his methodical style doesnt really shine. I’m still bullish that he can contribute to an NBA team, but upside is probably limited. He reminds me of Joe Ingles

-He had a nice game but I just don’t see it with Walsh. His game looks very unnatural and clumsy. For a guy who’s calling card is his defense, he gets blown by a lot. On the flip side, shot looked good and as long as that holds I think he can earn some minutes with his size/athleticism/shooting combo.

- I really liked Bassey’s rebounding and touch. He’s probably a bit redundant skillset wise with Queta but I see no reason not to bring him to camp to compete if he accepts to do so.

-nothing really on the other guys, want to see Bridges next game
