They're saying mid to late August for Hoskins. That's a rough strain.

Untradeable. Not that we would have but now it's not an option.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hopefully Vaughn can build off last night and take the reigns over for Hoskins. Probably his best shot to get his career back on track.

Wow, that’s a long time for Hoskins. Vaughn going to get a good opportunity. Think there is any chance Tyler Black gets another shot this year? Ernesto lurks too.

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Freddy to ASG
I saw the random trade offers for Acuna in SI and was curious what you guys thought:
"On Tuesday, ESPN's David Schoenfield proposed a wild hypothetical blockbuster in which the Braves would ship Acuña to Milwaukee in exchange for shortstop prospects Jesus Made and Luis Pena, outfielder Sal Frelick, and right-handed pitchers Abner Uribe and Logan Henderson. "
I don't know enough about Baseball but thought this was a lot to give up for a guy who already had two torn ACLs. Personally, if they were truly giving up that much I would hope they were making a run at Skenes to have a 1-2 punch of Skenes/Miz.

I don't think there would be a snowballs chance in **** that we would consider that. This would be more capital than what the Padres gave up for Soto. Soto had three years of control and was 23. Acuna is signed through 2028 which would be a half year less of control and will be 28 in December with the injury history.

That would be a disaster of a trade for us unless Acuna suddenly looked like a healthy MVP again. I have some Braves fans amongst my family and friends and no one is super impressed by him right now. His season has basically been buoyed by a 10-game heater he went on when he hit like .600 or something and the rest of it he's sucked (or so I've been told).

@AdamMcCalvy
Brewers closer Trevor Megill has been added to the NL All-Star team, Pat Murphy just said.

Anybody know anything on Steward Berroa? Apparently we traded with the Dodgers mid game to acquire him for cash.

Makes me think Perkins might be out a while.
I'd never heard of the dude but looks like a good glove and speed with a weak bat depth dude.
Speaking of OF, Collins has been awesome but i wonder if they'll explore the OF trade market.

I think besides Houston, the Crew have the best record vs teams above 500. So its not like we’ve been feeding off of **** teams.

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Freddy to ASG
Any "truth" to the Bregman to Brewers rumors?
To the main concern about the money:
MLB Insider Jim Bowden mentioned the Brewers as a possible landing spot for Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman, should he and the Red Sox fail to reach a contract extension prior to the MLB Trade Deadline at the end of the month.
"The Red Sox would like to extend Bregman before the trade deadline, but it won’t be easy with Scott Boras as his agent. And, I’m hearing, in my conversations throughout the league, if he’s not extended, they could end up trading him to Seattle, Detroit or Milwaukee."
To the main concern about the money:
As revealed at the time of the signing, half of Bregman's $40 million annual salary is deferred to a later date, meaning his 2025 cash salary is $20 million. MLB contracts are paid throughout the year, meaning if a team acquires a player halfway through the season, they are on the hook for half of that player’s salary. With the deadline occurring two-thirds of the way through the season, an acquiring team would pay roughly $6.5 million of Bregman's 2025 contract — that seems very reasonable. Additionally, deferred money is generally paid out by the team that initially signed the player — Max Scherzer is still being paid by the Washington Nationals despite being traded twice and signing with two other teams since he last pitched for them. However, every case is different, and the Brewers would likely either have to take on some of Bregman's deferred contract or increase their trade package.

Bregman has been out several weeks, maybe returning after the break. It's quad injury so he's probably ok but the same injury sidelined him for a big chunk of games in 2021.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

What would the Brewers have to give up to get Suarez?
