Re: 2025 Summer League
I know it's just Summer League but there's no pretty spin on basically our starting 5 getting blasted by a put together team.

Re: 2025 Summer League
Wizards looked like a disaster. Give credit to the suns but the Wizards looked like a bunch of random guys out there. No cohesion. No collective goal. Everyone doing their own thing.
With that being said, George looked good and Johnson looked good. The Wizards need to develop Tre so he becomes more than just a scorer. We need him to play defense and make the extra pass.

Leaky Black sounds like a gay pornstar. Is that his real name?

Don't need to spin it. We have a team where our young guys still think they'll be stars. So we don't pass the ball. It's fun to have a team where a bunch of players can initiate but that means that we need good coaching.

Yeah, didn’t see much off ball movement or participation on the defensive end from Tre. Few plays where he didn’t even cross half court to get back and defend, just stood around watching.
The isolation scoring&tough shot making is impressive. If he can just give effort on defense and learn to play offense off the ball, sky is the limit.

Re: 2025 Summer League
George looks like a quality NBA rotation player. No need to play him in the Summer League.
Sarr flashed his incredible talent level in the 2nd half. If he played like that for the 1st half, he would be another “shut it down” candidate.

Ky looks like he could be a legit starter. Bub has no position. Sarr same weaknesses as previous. Tre belongs but how is he not just taller Poole?

Re: 2025 Summer League
One thing we can definitively say is that Tre Johnson looks like the real deal. Multiple times he was open and his teammates didn't pass him the ball. Tre was 3-5 from 3. The rest of the team was 6-30 from 3. On a day with bad floor spacing, Tre made it look easy. It's going to be hard to keep his scoring down. If we breakdown his game a little further one of the concerns about his game was his finishing. In the first half he had a great finish over Maluach high on the glass.

Forget the too much talent part.
We still havn't seen Middleton, McCollum, Smart, and Champagnie; but this crew looks not ready for pime time. I didn't get to watch but the box score looks horrific.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Poole didn't play off ball. At 19 Poole was averaging 12.8 ppg 2.2 ast and 3 rebounds at Michigan. Tre Johnson was just the most efficient Wizards player and also our youngest player. For him to be doing this as a rookie is very impressive. The Wizards literally couldn't buy a 3. Give credit to the Suns they packed in the defense. But we should Tre's night in perspective. Even with the defense helping off of shooters he made over 50% of his shots.
7/13 from the field 3/5 from 3.
Compare him to other young players in summer league.
Coooper Flagg was 5/21.
Kon Knueppel was 1/8
It's always funny how people insist on downplaying players. He looked good and leave it at that. Btw, for the season Poole only had 10 games where he made 53.8% on his fg's or more.

Leaky Black sounds like a male exotic dancer who received the infamous "P Diddy baby oil white room special" after his drink was drugged.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

AJ Johnson looked like the best guard to me. He was actually trying to attack the paint. And yea, this team is going to be awful this season...no worries about that pick not conveying.

Re: 2025 Summer League
It's fun to hate on Sarr but his summer league should be put into context. Wizards couldn't space the floor. 9/35 from 3. In addition our guards were aggressive at hunting their own shots instead of passing the ball. With that being said Sarr looked solid.
His jump hook near the end of the game is one that he's clearly worked on very hard. The mechanics on his 3 ball also look very good. It's good to have a team where everyone can initiate but you still need good coaching to create order out of the chaos. Sarr got lost in the wash and you could see it in his body language at the timeout before the end of the first half.

He looked better than Tre Johnson? What are we saying lol. AJ shot 26.7% from 3 this year and just went 0-3 from 3 tonight. You really think he looked like the best guard? Johnson is explosive but his shot is major question mark.

What we saw form Sarr is how easy it is for him to get 20 points. You don't have to give him much. A couple baskets in transition. A couple pick and pop 3's. A couple lobs. And then he just finds a couple other shots.

Re: 2025 Summer League
It would be beneficial to have an actual PG running the offense and creating advantages/forcing defensive rotations. AJ Johnson was the only guard that actually got into the paint and scored/made some nice kick out passes for open 3s.

I'm saying current Poole. but ok he is an elite shot maker, he puts up 25ppg on 65% TS 1 rebound 1 assist with horrible defense, how is that a winning player archetype? He plays like a 6th man. Curious what is the vision on him on a 50 win team? Garland? Booker?
