For me it all comes down to the dribble drive.
3 point shooting can:
A) be streaky based on someone either being hot or cold on a particular night.
B) improve with work. We have seen bunches of players develop a really solid 3pt shot as they get comfortable with the physicality and speed of the pro game.
But dribbling and the dribble-drive, that is a skill that is a scarcity in the pro game and generally doesn't improve that much. You either have it or you don't.
The appealing thing about Hugo is that he has shown some skill there as a dribble driver. McNeeley has too but maybe a little less so than Hugo. But both were underutilized last year, so we'll have to wait and see.
Still, I'm staying ultra focused on the dribble drive because if Hugo shows that he is gonna be good at that, I could see him getting major minutes right away for the Cs.
