I'm going to pretend the #4 pick was between Kon and Yang Hansen and act really upset if Yang is better.

I have to say it. It's very Hornet that the guy we drafted for "knowing how to play basketball" had more turnovers and fouls then field goals made in hia debut with us lol
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Any defensive highlights? I don't think offense was ever the issue with this guy. (Smart play to be fair).

It is that he resembles Dalton Knecht on the defensive end.

Kon is a 91% FT shooter (missed 11 the entire season at Duke) and missed 3 in this game alone.

I think that shows he was just in his own head, he missed shots he normally would make.

I'm not sold by any means, but he did look like a better player today compared to what we saw in April. Handle is apparently actually functional now, he's staying vertical on defense (got **** on several foul calls, but whatever, he's not dropping his arms anymore for blocks he can't make anyway) and most shockingly at times he seemed like one of the more composed players out there.

The moments of random stuff are good reason to remain skeptical, but this is basically what I wanted to see from him last night. Improved skills (handles, mostly) and improved awareness. He checked those boxes to some extent, so I'll take it.

On the topic of Kon, I'm not concerned with his offense at all. Bad shooting day, lots of nerves, etc.

On defense he got absolutely shredded all night except one nifty pokeaway steal. That is what concerns me greatly. If we put him out there beside Melo right now with Diabate, Plumdog or Kalk at C we're giving up 120 points per game on defense most likely.

We need one of Melo/Kon to learn to play D or we'll need a JJJ-level defensive C to make it viable.

For what it's worth, I'm one of those deeply unhappy about the Kon pick, but not apoplectic about the performance last night. We played a brand of unselfish, fun to watch basketball where the ball was moving around and no one player was being set up to 'get his.' Liam was right-place, right-time all night long (and was great), the ball didn't find it's way to Kon a lot - different players shine on different nights when you share the ball. The tight shooting can be disregarded - he should revert to form soon, he started the game looking pretty composed and capable, and despite some nasty things I knew would be nasty things (awful defensive moments and zero ability to separate with the dribble), I remain in wait and see. Expect we'll see a better version tonight.

I think overall we looked good. I wouldn't be shocked if Liam ended up better than Flagg. No way Flagg top 5 in this draft. We got our CENTER projects in Kalk and PJ. Hope we throw them to the wolves this year. What I like about Salmons is his CONFIDENCE. That alone will help him get better cause he is not a total ball hog so there is room for improvement there. Kon is a player I think that can do better in the league than in summer league. Players play much harder defense in summer league. I watch the BEST ball handlers struggle to get over half court in summer league. Guys really be wanting those roster spots.

Yeah just from that highlight package, Yang should have been a lottery pick. Nobody is laughing at Portland now...he moves just fine on defense too

Pelicans missed out he would have been perfect for them

Reed Sheppard has such a quick and pure shot. Really really hope we can buy low on him, he has Curry range and can really shoot it

Saw a highlight where he had a defender on skates before draining a 30 footer like it was a walk in the park.

Houston wouldn't include him in Durant deal. So.... no chance at getting him on a buy low.

Last year's lottery really f***** us... Sarr, Risacher, Reed, Castle, Holland all look like useful players, everyone from 6 onward not

He seems like a perfect fit in Houston long term if he pans out. If I was them I think I would just roll with him and hope for the best. He could still be quite good in the right role for them.

Dallas and San Antonio getting the top 2 picks in this draft is so annoying.

"San Antonio is a well run organization"

I'd argue the only out of the box good thing they ever did was target Kawhi Leonard in the draft, then they traded him for crap

Everything else was pure luck

Nothing cringier than listening to Mark Jones sling slang - hearing him say things like ‘put him in the friend zone” makes me want to bathe in a tub of bleach.
