Ben Simmons and Booker are eskimo bros. Wonder if they still upset about that or they can move forward . Imagine

Simmons
Green
Booker
Brooks
Williams

Thats a big lineup with Defense .

So many things we could do with our lineup and bench for some fun rotations

If he could only hit a three ball.

Thats why he should play the PF for us.

Book
Green
Brooks
Simmons
Williams

Is a good team that should balance each other well enough. Simmons brings the ball up and can cause all sorts of mismatch probs if the opposing PF has to cover him and contain passing lanes. He can also switch with Booker fairly easy. His vision ia incredible and should set up Book/Green/Mark with easier baskets, but........

This is all depending on what he has left and I'm not sure what, if anything Ben has left in the tank. Thats even IF he can stay healthy.

You can't play two non shooters together in the NBA.

And we are in 2025...Ben Simmons is not a factor anymore. He isn't a mismatch for anyone.

I don't like Ben Simmons at all but as a 9/10 man on the rotation or end-of-the bench player I would be OK with him on the roster.

Rather see Fleming, Dunn, Ighodaro, Maluach, and Hayes-Davis get mintues at PF. Simmons would be a small ball C at best and would allow us to trade Richards.

Simmons would be great here and if used right in limited minutes could fill a lot of needs for us. Defensively the switchability he unlocks would be amazing. Can you imagine a defensive unit of brooks/simmons/maulauch/dunn/book.

Booker and Green are not a good pairing-IMO and I really wish we wouldve pushed for a Reed/Whitmore combo instead. However, now that we have him, I wanna keep him as he will likely be our actual SGOTF once Booker asks out.

When that happens, a team of

*PG*
Green
Dunn
Fleming
Maluach

Is decent as all of the other guys can provide the defense needed to cover up for Green-who can score I think 30 a game if given free range. I would just want an actual PG to play with him and to provide chances for our other guys to get some baskets.

All in all, I think we did good this summer-expect for the Williams trade which I hated then, and hate now. Maluach is our future at C and he could've learned behind Richards instead of giving up 2 FRPs to get Mark W.

Really hated that trade. Hopefully I am wrong and this works out well for us.

I'll actually be shocked if we sign Simmons. I have 0 faith that he's the same player and if he's even close to what he was then I think he'd go to a place where he can get a better shot at making it

I'm a BIT more excited about watching this weird team than I ever was about the last two seasons, but PLEASE get a **** point guard. Having Booker play point is idiotic.

I am fully prepared to give Gillispie a chance. Steve Nash's career did not take off until he was 26. There is always hope.

Not bad, I think he played a big role on a championship team.

Eh, I recall the raptors offered us roy damon stoudemire after their second and third seasons respectively. I was astounded that we turned them down. Instead, traded him for pat garrity and the draft pick that became Shawn Marion. Point is, people knew nash was good before 26.

Not sure how his game is going to translate playing aside of the exact same player as him in Booker, but it’s cool that he gave up money to come here. Already doing good things.

https://www.rawchili.com/nba/165633/

Lost in the shuffle of Kevin Durant being traded to the Houston Rockets, was the fact that Green had a $6.9 million trade bonus. Money that he would still have gotten had he been re-routed during that insane seven-team trade that landed Durant in Texas, but which is no longer the case with Green staying in Phoenix. Which meant he waived that money in order for the Durant deal to happen.

Difference between Green and Beal:
Green gave up the money - Beal is having a hard time giving up money to leave his team.

[Stein/Fischer] Why is Beal's highly anticipated buyout from Phoenix unfolding so slowly? League sources say Beal's current contract stipulates that he is owed a 25% advance payment on July 15. It is believed that he could wait for that payment to go through before proceeding with a buyout.

This 25% charge will have tax implications for us and may improve our chances of trading him once Phoenix makes the payment. It seems that both sides are committed to the buyout if the news is to be believed, but if that date passes I would run some trade scenarios by Beals preferred destination list again after that because the actual cost to have him will be in the high $30M range and his impact for tax and apron purposes would be less than the combo of players leaving, allowing the receiving team to save significantly against their current tax.

His book salary would be roughly $54M for salary matching in trades, but the team would only owe him $40.5M roughly in actual dollars. Actual dollars are used for tax calculations, whereas book salary is used for trade matching. It would allow a team to get out of ~$30M if they were a multi year repeat tax payer.

Beal has the leverage and he is using to his advantage. I don't blame him.
You can blame Beal but he is not the person who put the Suns in this position. Thats not opinion - its fact.

Why should Beal give up 25% of his agreed upon contract? It sucks for our roster construction but that's on Ishibia, not like Beal's contract was a secret.
