I'd argue further that solid winning players thrive with structure and proper scheming. Which is why every year we see guys light up summer league that can't even crack a rotation and find themselves in the G-League or overseas.

The value of summer league is to find diamonds in the rough that look like they could grow into winning players, like I suspect Nembhard's brother will be. Flagg was 5-20 and struggled while James' kid was getting a ton of praise after that game. Does anyone take any of this seriously?

Summer League doesn't matter except for reinforcing confirmation bias.

True. But if you absolutely suck in summer league, you more than likely will suck when the games actually matter too. There are very few Jared McCain stories. More guys dominate summer league and are ass in the NBA. It’s rare to see it the other way around.

summer league is more about if your guy can hang athletically and impact the game. McCain shot poorly but didn't look overmatched and "did the little things". Springer however didn;t look like he could dribble ffs and I had to hang my hopes on "but da rebounds doe".

right now Flagg looks like he is trying to do too much imo and is being miscast as a point guard for some reason, in a regular season game that won't be his role and he probably won't be getting all of the defensive focus either. (Does make you wonder about the White Kawhii hype tho..but he's also 18 still sooooo)

I think VJ.has a more than decent chance to better than Harper. I think Dylan dont have that high ceiling as Edge.

I think Tre will be better than both. But agree that VJ will be better than Harper.

All i needed to see from him we already did. He was a man among boys that first game. This mostly makes it super easy to not tune in. I’d be fine if he doesn’t play at all until preseason to be honest

Kidd said he’s going to throw Cooper at PG early and often. Much like he did Giannis in Milw. So expect to see Cooper with the ball in his hands during regular season. They have the personnel to compliment him too.

Broome is undersized for a C . Doesn't move and can't jump so im not sure how he will be able to get on a NBA floor.
