Prospects have looked pretty 1 dimensional so far.

Nothing close to being an nba level player on the court so far.

Looks like brad managed to draft more guys who cant contribute.

First game of summer league, outside Baylor and Walsh none of these guys have played with each other. Hard to expect much. Shooting efficiency is probably the only thing I’m looking at.

Even if we accept the premise that judging player based on a single summer league game makes sense, which we really shouldn't because it's mind numbingly dumb, Walsh and Gonzalez were better than Wells who is quite clearly an NBA player so your take is still wrong. Impressive.

Gonzalez has NBA skills and plays hard. He is going to be a good NBA player, probably better than Scheierman. But I was impressed with Shulga, too. He defended well and made two of the prettiest passes in the game. Williams had a nice play running the floor, giving up the ball then getting it back for a dunk. He also had a couple of blocks. And the Celtics beat a Memphis team that had already been together for three games in Salt Lake City. So the glass is at least half full.

Gonzalez is probably the only guy who can crack the rotation (I don't have a ton of faith in Jordan Walsh but maybe he could too), but I think the Maine Celtics will be fun to watch if they can find a true point guard to replace Davison.

Probably lots of his Real Madrid teammates spoke english though, especially the american guys on the team and the guys from the team who have played NBA ball..

Read on Twitter

That 27% figure sounds incredibly made up considering how huge the tourism industry is in Spain and how the people working in it would need at least some basic English skill. Regardless, whatever the number is for the country at large, I can guarantee you it is much, much higher in Madrid especially in younger post-Franco generations. I've spent months there and I can count on one hand the number of instances where somebody's English level was a genuine obstacle for communication (granted most of my interactions were in Spanish anyway but considering how limited I am in that language I've had to fall back to English far more than I'd care to admit).

I lived in Italy for a year and a half. If Spain is anything like Italy, there is a massive difference in percentage of people who speak English generationally. Older generations generally don't, and the majority among younger generations do, so if they estimate that 27% speak English, it's likely far higher among youth. My two cents. High percentage in England speak it too, but declining. Ba dum tsss.

31 points for Cooper Flagg in his second game. Dude really copied the Wemby summer league experience of clanking eveything in his first game and then being instantly far too good for that level

Speaking of the Spurs, Carter Bryant 1/6 and 0/7 in his first two games. Larry Russell woul have cut him already if he was GM of the Spurs.

Damnit, sign him, Brad!

Still looks incredibly athletic after tearing his ACL on December 10th, '23. Way to go, Brad, for keeping up on this guy. I really do hope we sign him.

I'm thinking one more game will do it. Partially guaranteed, perhaps?

I'm thinking that he's waiting for a Game or two more of SL.

With Performance Incentives, due to his Injury history.

We don't have any roster spots.

We're at the maximum of 15 standard roster spots.

All we have for open roster spots is exhibit 10 training camp deals - which some reports are saying that is what Bassey is being signed to.

To be fair, Hugo has not really even had an offseason yet. He had his season with Real Madrid (which he played in 69 games) which literally just ended right before he was drafted..then 5 days of practice with the SL squad, now SL games in vegas. It's about avoiding injury, burnout, muscle fatigue from playing too many games in a certain span of time.

SL games are essentially meaningless. It would be pretty bad if he gets injured because we overdo it by overplaying him in meaningless SL games.
