Tbh if we’re gonna start a Herro/Powell backcourt, Niko makes better sense in the starting 5.
Plenty of shooting in that lineup too.

Yeah so much more dynamic. Ware and Keshad can come off the bench for those guys with Mitchell running point getting them dunks. JJJ will be the secondary unit ball handler with Mitchell with that grouping.

Yeah and they brought in the accountability police today in UD and McGruder to practice today. They are clearly pissed with Ware.
Hate to say it but I’m very worried about Ware and we’re already making hundreds of untouchable

I think the lingering deal out there for Miami is a Bam/Ware lineup isn’t the move. It stifles the offense too much by screwing up spacing. I know Bam wants to play the 4 but really what his advantage is in the NBA is being quicker, faster, and more active than 95% of NBA 5s and having that matchup.
That’s not to say Ware couldn’t be our 5 he has the talent to do that and I think plays his best ball when Bam is off the floor
I alluded to this during the season last when Ware was breaking out. I do think one of the uncomfortable things for this team will be that decision. If we are in a position to contend this year I’m betting Ware gets sent to the bench and Bam to the 5. I’m not against sending Ware or Bam if we can retrieve a massive haul in a deal. That’s a short list but I only think you need 1.

Championship-wise sure. But overall? I think LeBron has the edge. That said, MJ is still the GOAT.
Championships, stats, accolades all with Lakers. Lebron’s Mickey Mouse ring and cute little scoring record doesn’t hold a candle to any of Kobe’s Laker titles. I’m no Kobe or Lakers fan but There is no argument for Lebron’s manufactured 7 years over Kobe’s 20 with them
I guess I missed something lol who was arguing LeBron had the better lakers career?

That is chilling….
We love to praise the powers that be for how they keep finding guys in the draft/ufa… but damn….the Heat approach appears to be awesome if you throw a net into the undrafted pool and see who embraces the grind…. Less so if you aim for the talent you want and are hoping they have the mental approach to be a Miami Heat player.
What sucks is the talent is clearly there if only Ware would choose to be great….

I think we just need to keep our expectation's in check. He can still be a very good big in this league with his shot blocking and dunks but might not be such a perfect fit starting along side Bam. The perfect big arch type with Bam is Anthony Davis and the next in house option is Nikola Jovic. I think Bam and Ware are ok but are dependent on good PG play and quality 3 point shooting around them. Ware is not the stretch unicorn some were projecting on him. I see him airball 3’s more than not. He’s more low motor Derek Lively. There’s nothing wrong with having Ware as an elite backup Center.

Yea no doubt. LeBron isn't a blue blood Laker anyway, Kobe fans who are for the most part Lifers in that fanbase have no reason to have any affinity for a mercenary.
Oh my bad, thought it was a better overall career. Lakers career of course it's Kobe. I have LeBron as the 2nd GOAT though. Kobe should be in top 10.

So far JJJ and Ware are in spo’s doghouse.. lets see how they respond..
If i have to guess, JJJ will turn around quicker than Ware.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
I'm sure part of Spo's mention of "professionalism", then what I perceive as a bit of damage control trying to explain it but not really making it that much better, was him going, oh crap, fans going to see this and spasm like we are here on this board now
There is a part of me that just wants to relax, accept the team we have, and forget about all the cap machinations of next year. It would be easier - if Wiggins is returning decent value now (sounds like at least expirings), then I guess we can move him later if we need. Herro has a small chance of becoming a franchise player, I could just embrace that.
There does seem to be enough talent on this team to be in the playoffs, maybe even home court if things fall the right way, just not sure if the ceiling is higher.
I guess it is just - if we get to next season with a resigned Herro, Powell, Niko, and it doesnt work out, the chance of a title with Bam and this iteration is probably over and it will take a lot of moves to crawl out of it.

Sometimes I'll choose to read the first sentence to get the gist then either check out the rest or move onto the next one, it's really not that hard!
I agree with this, but that one dude who keeps acting like Rob Pelinka is driving me insane.
The only thing that comes to mind when I see that face is the threesome scandal. Oh, that's the other Rob, lol

Idk, we need Ware's height. Jaquez on the other has to stand out amongst Norman, Wiggins, jovic, highsmith, Pelle... to get mins. He better shoot 3s better than last year to earn mins.

That doghouse is really difficult to get out of too. Spo won’t just let a player go on the floor and learn on the fly. He will hand players massive binders of **** to learn and quizzes them on it every day in practice. He turns his players into a machine. If they are in that doghouse, they are not machine worthy.
OP for NBA FT record

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
Unless we land a real star by trade this offseason/deadline, the next time a contract of any sort is signed, whether it is an extension or free agent, will be in the 2026 offseason.
Absolutely no reason at all for them to offer any extensions to anyone on the roster. They can evaluate what this “core” we have right now can do and then see if they can move forward with it or break it apart after the upcoming season, in which they will have a ton of expirings leaving and room to work with on the new era of the Heat.

Spoelstra about Wiggins
I think there’s still real opportunity for growth with him as he gets comfortable with us.
He’s already down in Miami right now and will be bringing his family in. He’s going to be here most of August and September, I think just to get more acclimated. And I think that’s really important for him.
It’s not easy changing teams midseason. But you can see the possibilities of the two-way play. He’s really dynamic defensively. He can guard, in our system, multiple players. Offensively, his skill set is really unique because you can go to him.
Spoelstra likes Wiggins. He has said it so many times and he gave him a bigger role than he had with Warriors.
I hope Wiggins stays with Miami and plays well enough in order to make Pat Riley to like him too.
The addition of Norman Powel can make this team a lot better in offense and defense
Herro/Jakucionis/Mitchel
Powel/Wiggins/Herro
Wiggins/Jovic/Highsmith
Adebayo/Jovic
Ware/Adebayo
i like this news better than the Lebron trade rumors and it reminds us that these players are human and this isn't a 2K trade. his family is his support system especially after his father passing so the more comfortable they are the better he will play.

I’m not a fan of publicly calling out your players in this manner, just causes an unnecessary media circus. Would prefer for it to be dealt in house, and for Captain Bam to be the one holding people accountable. And hopefully providing good mentoring.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Kinda wish UD was still our 15th man and team captain all the way into his 60s.
