Same, let him come home. If we can. If not, let him go to New York... Hopefully the Nets. Love you, Cole, but I don't want to see you 4x a year on the Knicks.

0 chance he takes a vet min to play 5-8 minutes on a team that traded him to match bane’s salary lol.
Cole was nothing but an inefficient microwave scorer who got abused on defense in the playoffs.
Great human, awesome attitude and glue guy but we shouldn’t be wanting him back.

Re: Cole Anthony Appreciation Thread
So the old rule on players who are traded and then bought out of their contract immediately after the trade was they couldn’t rejoin the team they were originally on for 30 days from the date of the buyout.
However, the NBA didn’t like the fact that it felt like certain contenders were attempting to circumvent the CBA by trading players away that they knew would get bought out and immediately return after a 30-day wait.
So they changed the rule. If a player is waived or bought out by his new team after a trade, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first.
So no, Cole cannot return to the Magic immediately as a free agent post buyout from Memphis. The earliest he could return would be the summer of 2026.

Love Cole the person. He is just a great competitor, veteran and locker room presence. He was huge reason why the team early on built habig of bring close like brothers. His role here deteriorated but would still love him on this organization somehow.

That's the earliest he could return as a free agent. What if he was bought out and signed with a new team? Could he be available before the trade deadline? It seems like every year there's a group of players that can't be traded until like December 10th or something.

Cole going to breakout. Watch.
Should have moved AB instead, and that's going to come back and haunt us.

He was here for 5 years and wasn’t consistent. Maybe he needs to go to another team to have a breakout year.
