What's more disappointing than this dumb signing are the number of posters that think this guy is any good. He's not a good player. Reminds me of all the posiives about Kuzma I heard on this board after the move (athletic and can attack the basket).
The only positive that I agree with is he plays wih an edge. So does TA.
The guy is inefficient, has no point guard ability, is not good at defense and totally unswitchable (take your selective advanced stats and put them where the sun don't shine).
You can excuse it as a mnimum signing, but when you have a coach like Doc, we can expect him to play a lot, especially since his Dad is a friend. I'd rather have Gary Harris, that's how bad Antthony is. Harris is a bettter defender and smart enough not to shoot too much.
Orlando got rid of him and HIS PLAYING TIME DECREASED EVERY YEAR SINCE HIS SECOND YEAR. Memphis just traded Bane and still didn't want him.
Anthony can get on a heater, but he is not a good player and Orlando and Memphis knew it.
Green, Rollins, KPJ and Trent are much better in every facet of the game. Doc has Horst by the nuts.
Breaking news, two teams that have too much depth gave up on a depth piece? No kidding.
The Grizzlies gave us Grayson Allen for Sam Merrill, then they waived Merrill.
Grayson Allen is now on a 4/70 deal
Merrill is on a 4/40
Thats the problem with a team having too much depth and not enough high end talent. You end up having to dump quality players for nothing.
Too much depth?
Orlando had their point guard injured for most of last year and Anthony still played less minutes than he had in the last several years. He wasn't any
good or the Magic wouldn't have acquired Tyus Jones and drafted another point guard in the first round.
I have no idea what the trade for Grayson Allen has to do wih anything. Cole Anthony has been in the league for 6 years and has lost his value so much that no one else wans him.
And while I haven't been beating the drum for Chris Paul, CP is ten times the player that Anthony is and probably will still be better when he's 50.
And lastly, if Doc wasn't the coach, I'd feel a lot less negative than I do. I'm waiting for the Anthony, Prince, Kuzma lineup.

Reminds me of Bayless when we got him.

Feels like AJ Green might be on the move, likely with Kuz. I’ve had that feeling all summer.
KPJ / Anthony
GTJ / Rollins
Trade Wing / Harris
Giannis / Prince
Turner / Bobby / Sims
Feels like those 11 guys could eat up 48 minutes for 82 games.
Not sure if other teams value AJ Green, but if they do, I could definitely see him being on the move.

Orlando needed to use Anthony's contract slot to make the Bane trade.

Trent played tons of SF last year, it fits his lateral quickness better, and he'll do it a ton again this year. Why does everyone slot him at SG?

Yup, I think the only possible move left is a Kuzma deal and that may not happen until the deadline, if at all.
I think Monk was always going to be sent to a 3rd team

Riot will riot if they trade Dairy Bird.

Green and Smith
For
Eason
Houston feels super light on guards who can shoot (Van Vleet, Sheppard, Holiday) and fully stocked on swing forwards (Durant, Thompson, Finney-Smith, Smith, Green, Tate). Eason will need an extension, much like Green, and may find himself odd man out.

I bet Cole Anthony is Bobby Portis' favorite player on the team by the second day of training camp.

No chance we’re trading Dairy. We aren’t that brain dead. Not to say he’s untouchable but using him to dump Kuzma would be firing worthy for Horst.

I’m fully on the AJG is untouchable train, but if they can actually get Trey Murphy for Kuz/AJG/31 1st, I’d do that. Trey Murphy is the perfect solution at SF for this team and is signed to a very reasonable deal.

Cole will be a guy who when he's on, he will play a lot those games. When he's not, it will be KPJ and Rollins. He's important for depth reasons and when injuries/rest happen and you need him to take a bigger role. He will keep the backcourt fresh and playing hard.

The other rumour from today is some loser ****. Expect nothing less from the Bucks at this point.
What’s the other rumor?
We’re trading Kuz, Green and 2031 first for Trey Murphy III.

KPJ/Rollins/Anthony

Really need better wings.
I got it slightly different.
Point Guard:
Cole
Combo Guard:
KPJ | Rollins
Swingmen:
Trent | Green | Harris
Wing Forward:
Prince | Jackson
Power Forward:
Giannis | Bobby | Kuzma | Smith
Center:
Turner | Sims
You guys gonna piss your pants when kuz starts at the 3?
I would certainly hope so.
He's trash at the 4 and that's his position.

Anthony actually started a ton of games last year because Suggs was hurt. The Magic drafted Black with a top 5 pick. The two of them basically split the games Suggs missed. (And if you’re into stats and efficiencies you might want to look at which of the two played better)
The Magic are a team full of depth. They’ve had a ton of first round lottery picks they have to put on the floor to see if they are anything. They took Jett Howard high in the lottery and he’s barely played. Between Wagner, Howard and Da Silva they have 3 small forwards alone that were lottery picks in the last 4 years. Anthony, Suggs, and Black were all lottery picks in the last 5 years at point guard.
Of all the things to be mad at Doc for this isn’t even close to being one of them.
