Sucks we didn't win the lotto, Flagg would have been solid for us coming off the bench this year

The 905 would have been fun with Alijah starting and Cooper coming off the bench.
That Flagg kid might be 2 years away from being 2 years away. I’m sure China is always option…

Joan Beringer looks amazing. I hope we don't regret that miss (or Yang).

Carter Bryant is all defense no offense at all.....Raptors seem to love them type of guys but im glad we didn't pick him because yeah he looks good on defense but idk if he can score.....Dude has trouble scoring in the summer league theres not much he will be able to do in an NBA game...

He looked rough in alot of spots, Yeah he looks raw af but he does have a good foundation to build with and he is very young still so more room to grow....But i think most of us knew he was a project and was going to look raw af....But from what i saw....At least he doesn't look like he will be a bust since he can do some things...

Some of the draft takes were so bad. "Jokic was such a steal" but selecting Yang mid first is some big reach.

Very nice defense. He could have been wearing a Raptors jersey out there.
Offense...not so much. In 4 summer league games so far, he's averaging:
23 min, 5.75 pts (20.7% fg on 7.25 shots/game, 18.2% 3pt), 3.75 boards, 1 assist, 0.25 steals, 1.5 blocks, 3.25 to, 4.25 fouls
Each game his offensive numbers have actually gotten worse. (That trend's got to reverse soon, though. He can't hit fewer shots than he did yesterday (0-7).)

I can't imagine his shooting not coming around. The 3s will start falling eventually. Defence is elite. His ability to create for himself will be the key point of development. He is exactly as advertised coming out of college...playing the exact same role he did at Arizona.
He certainly is a high floor guy with the defence. If he never learns how to really score outside of the 3 point shooting...I wouldn't feel good taking him #9. I think he was drafted at the proper spot in the draft.

He guards like OG. Too bad offense is non existent. I don’t want another one of those guys.

As for our team, well they put a smile on my face.
AJ, impressive.
Battle, slow start but looked good.
Martin and Mogbo on the court together was entertaining. Mo Dunks! That made me laugh. They seemed to have good chemistry feeding each other. Also these two wound up as the highest +/- players on the team.
Shead. We can sit him out. Too good at what he does already. But keep him in and lets win this (meaningless) thing.
JKW. Same as Shead above.
Looking forward to seeing CMB tomorrow.
I don't know how many minutes these guys will get, but I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy watching the bench mob play next season.
I’m not sure what people are seeing in Walter that makes him look leagues above this competition.
Walter needs to be able to score efficiently at the NBA level and he didn’t really show that ability even in summer league…

He didn't shoot the 3 at a high volume in college, so was mostly a standstill shooter that only took open shots.

On a team with Scottie, BI and IQ...all I need Jakobe to be is a defender who can hit a 3, defend and create as a release valve when the other guys are being guarded too heavily. He is essentially a 4/5th option.

Exactly. Let’s please not start this again with Ja’Kobe like we did with Ochai last summer league. Looking at summer league games from an efficiency standpoint will never be smart. Ja’Kobe is being asked to do somethings in summer league he won’t be asked to do in the regular season and he’s higher in the pecking order in summer league than he will be on the Raptors. The effort and the defence is there, he just missed some shots. I’m not worried about Ja’Kobe at all. He was never a guy who could create for himself off the bounce with any consistency at the NBA level, so him still not being able to do that in summer league doesn’t worry me bc that was always the icing on the cake. As long as in the regular season he can hit 3s, finish off cuts, play defence and continue advantages that are created for him he’ll be fine. All things he’s shown he can do in the NBA already. I am not going to let like 4-5 summer league games change my mind about him when he showed flashes of what he could be in the regular season already. He’ll be just fine.
