Cole is an ok signing.
I think I will enjoy the pair chemistry of KPJ- Giannis and Cole-Bobby this regular season.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Cole Anthony Incoming
Maybe cope but it seems like Doc has his best coaching when expectations are low. I am hopeful that with Brook and Dame gone the defense will be better, hoping the ball will move around more on offense too since the fit with Dame & Giannis never materialized. Team has to get up way more 3s this year, play with more pace. I don’t think Dame really affected wins and losses that much, it’s crazy they have this team pegged at 42 wins especially with the east so weak. Cleveland would be a tough match up but they’re not that intimidating, NYK/Orlando/Detroit don’t scare me. Sixers will be better this year than last but I welcome that match up. The Hawks maybe? They’d probably be a tougher match up with the Bucks than a couple of these teams. I feel pretty good if the team is healthy going into the playoffs. Let’s say hypothetically the team has a good year and is the #2 seed behind Cleveland, there’s a good chance we don’t see that match up in the ECF should the Bucks get there. I think the expectations with Dame really put a cloud over the team and they’ll be a lot more fun to watch this season.

In Cole's 3rd season, he was really good. That was his contract season, and by far, his best season.

I'm not huge on Anthony, but he still has potential having just turned 25 and could turn his career around on a new team. Orlando was kind of a weird fit for him. Maybe he can make a jump in efficiency like KPJ did last year.
I have fairly low expectations. Just play like this every night.

Ideally Coach has come around to starting GTJ at the 3 (or at least playing him a lot there).
If so we don’t have such a problem waiting for the right wing with size to come available.
the starting 5 in our last playoff game is exactly how this team is going to look on opening night with turner in for bobby. i feel that in my bones honestly. to me there just isnt any way in hell the guy who actually inserted that lineup somehow didnt then watch how successful it was. we dont need to doc proof anything hes literally the guy who put that team on the floor. later than we would have obviously but i think there were reasons for that. i think all those reasons are gone.
dame was out and got cut.. we then made no attempt to resign brook whatsoever. we have made no effort to hide that were dangling kuzma either after he got literally benched in the playoffs. both getting literally benched as starters meant the end for both of them in any kind of serious longterm way the moment it happened imo
i do believe prince will make a good backup wing with his 3pt range but literally every other guy..... all the guys weve put together in a stable that can all play that way we watched ourselves compete and practically win, in Indiana that game 5. indianas run has to have solidified everybody in the org that not only that we can compete that way.....but also thats how we SHOULD compete moving forward. that is the new recipe for doc. i think this summer proves it with what theyve gone out and done
i'll be shocked if somehow doc reverts to anything even remotely similar to the big slow ball pounding lineups we saw for most of last year. a style that the roster forced and quite frankly the style that weve been. i think opening night prince and kuz will bothe be coming off the bench. and if one of them starts, likely kuzma....hes gonna be on a leash like crazy. theres gonna be waaay to much ammo sitting on the bench to want him out there unless hes somehow successful suddenly in that role

Thoughts:
1)I read here that posters like Anthony because he can attack the basket and I read the poster from Orlando say one of his weaknesses is he the can't. Who do I believe?
2) Posters here who like the guy need to tell us whose minutes he will take from- is it Green, KPJ, Trent, or Rollins. The guy is 6'2". While I expect a few big games from him offenisvely, who is he switching on.
3) Rollins, KPJ and Green are all switchable to varied degrees.Midget Anthony is unswitchable.
4) Until I see otherwise, Doc will play the guy regular big minutes. And Doc, we all know, is the best coach in the league, as identified by the best GM in the league.
5) Neither Orlando or Memphis wanted him.He kept losing minutes every season with Orlando, and Memphis wanted no part of him.

He was saying it as a positive. He led that comeback and was unstoppable. 27 and 8 in the 2nd half.

all that is true but he was also rated the best pg in the 2019 class. a 5 star recruit. had a solid season at UNC. then lotto pick. 4 up and down seasons in orlando. mixed playoff success. ive heard guys discuss his poor playoff record but he stuffed the sheet in orlandos play in game last year.
he checks some boxes....young, upside, pedigree, athletic, hungry with something to prove, great character and team guy.....exactly the type we should be taking a flyer on imo. maybe a change of scenery he makes a little leap. hes by no stretch a journeyman yet

I think the signing is fine but I would have rather traded for Cade Cunningham or Anthony Edwards. That's just me, though.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Cole Anthony Incoming
Im with GoS that I get this feeling Doc sees the light as far as playing smaller, quicker, more modern lineups/rotations. All the moves this offseason look like a team trying to put a unit around Giannis that can run, defend and shoot.
KPJ/Anthony
Green/Rollins
Trent/Prince
Giannis/Kuzma
Turner/Bobby
Sims will have utility and will play. Harris is depth but will play. Prince, Sims, Harris is a perfectly reasonable 9-12 on your roster
Going into this offseason I think a lot of us would be happy to just bring that final game starting lineup back and some shrewd moves on the margins. We faced a real chance of losing several of those guys but we managed to keep them all, for cheap, while adding a perfect front court mate for Giannis that none of us in our wildest dreams thought was remotely possible.
I’m content to see what this group does while patiently waiting to finding the right move for Kuzma (salary slot) plus 31. That move has to be slightly needle moving and not just making us a tad more well rounded.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Cole Anthony Incoming
I like that Anthony is athletic and a good rebounder.
He’s also only 25 and has shown plenty of flashes in his career. Orlando has turned things around but not like he was in such a good player development environment either.
Seems better than expected for a third string PG minimum signing. If he were bigger or more proven we weren’t getting him for that.
A retread vet with ego and expectations for shots would’ve gotten in the way of our other young guys much more. And even then CP3 and Beal probably wouldn’t have come to a non-glamour market even if we’d pull out all the stops.
Brogdon is hurt all the time. Otherwise who else are we talking about, Delon Wright kind of guys?

theres no way to watch those highlights while looking at that game score and not feel good about this guy.
there is a chance that playing off giannis gravity with shooters all aorund he could really find the consistency youd want from a roleplayer. i trust his decision making more than kpj's or rollins already. love we have the 3 of them to choose from. a ton of upside we have all of a sudden. kinda nuts really

This is the type of asset I’m thinking of, but are there others? Would definitely call the Lakers on Austin Reaves on this.

Cole already has value for us. He's a solid point of attack defender and he's a good ball handler. If he can further develop his game with us then he becomes something bigger and this is the exact kind of move that we need to make in the apron era. All these teams that have stockpiled young athletic talents now being forced to jettison guys like this is to our advantage.

Was watching some Cole Anthony highlights on YouTube earlier. In almost all of them if you glance down at the score chyron the Magic are down 15-20 points.
Whenever I’d watch your games I’d see Cole race up the floor and simply chuck. Never looked to set up an offense.
(Again guys, for us at the minimum he’s great. But Doc is gonna play him)

Anthony would not be a minimum signing at 25 if he didn’t have warts; remember we’ve been excited about signing guys like Cameron Payne, Delon Wright, Jeff Teague so Cole Anthony is fine to kick the tires on as a back up guard. I’m not worried about him taking time from better players, having depth is good in case somebody gets injured.
Would a Chris Paul been more intriguing to me? Maybe, I know a lot of people weren’t into that but i think we all agree this is a lot better than signing Westbrook. If Anthony doesn’t fit then maybe he’s fodder that can be moved later like these other min signings that didn’t work out, Horst’s strength has been finding guys off the scrap heap. If the team could find an athletic wing defender that wasn’t a total negative on offense to handle the tough match ups then I’ll really start liking the balance of the roster. It sucks that AJJ sucks. Maybe point Giannis will allow the glue guys to flourish more, we’ll see.

Myles Turner on leaving Indiana:
At the end of the day, bro, it’s not a Cinderella story, you know what I mean?
I think that’s what how people are trying to form this and though I think the way I viewed it is I wanted to be thankful, for just the people that rock with me the entire time, my 10-year journey in Indiana, but also let them realize that at this time I didn’t made the best decision for my family made the best decision for me and myself going into my prime, and this is how I saw fit.
Kyrie Irving: Wait, so there’s a better version of Myles Turner?
Myles Turner: Absolutely, I’m evolving.

It definitely sucks that Jackson Jr turned into a lost cause. The role for some version of Josh Hart is there for the taking and he’s clearly unable to fulfill it. We need to find someone in that mold that can play both forward spots because Kuzma is never going to settle into it either. It could be Kuzma in theory but he has the IQ of a Louie Vuitton belt buckle and shoots like Angel Reese, I’m not sure how you fix a 30yr olds game at this point. He's active on the floor and runs like a gazelle but the actual basketball stuff isn’t where the Bucks need it to be so he’s a nuisance, just like Jackson Jr.
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis
