I would be hesitant to trade that pick right now if I’m the Bucks. It’s really the only chip left for use for the balance of Giannis prime. Unless I’m getting a guy that I feel can run with Giannis for the next 3-5 years on a rookie contact, it’s hard to pull the trigger.
I actually think Milwaukee has done a decent job this summer and are teed up nicely for next summer.
Trent Jr coming back for a 2nd year just above the minimum tees him up for early bird rights and a basically full mid level deal next summer. Cole Anthony was a nice pickup as well. Tauren Prince is on a similar structure of contract. Milwaukee will enter next summer about $56mm below the 1st apron assuming Harris, Sims and Porter Jr opt in and Trent and Prince opt out - 10 players on the active roster with only Cole Anthony and AJ Green not under contract.
They would enter next summer with 3 tradable 1’s (their 26 on draft night and 31 and 33), Kuzma on an expiring, Prince/Trent with early bird rights to create outgoing sign and trade salary, and both the mid level and bi-annual to play with.
It’s not horrible looking forward in Milwaukee even if the current backcourt needs improvement.
Bad idea? Kuz/2031 first for Giddey

the Giddey contract thing is simple business. They will come to the right number eventually, no need for either side to rush.
Giddey was the most exciting piece for Chicago last year, would be silly to ditch him for crap and a future hope now
