Any offers for combination of Rozier/Fontecchio/Highsmith
Let me start off by saying I fully understand this is not high level package of players. All are expirings (up to 40 plus million). With the recent acquisition of Powell it looks as though the Heat want to run a lineup of Ware, Bam, Wiggins, Powell, and Herro and a bench of Mitchell, Jovic, JJJ, Pelle, and KJ. The Heat are looking for a power rotation player that can fit next to Bam/Ware. What options are out there? Is there someone whose contract goes past next season that a team is willing to attach an asset to as a salary dump? Ideally the Heat can find a 2027 FRP to help unlock up to 4 tradable picks on their end. The Heat have looked to prioritize freeing up cap space for next offseason but I can see them taking on some future money if the asset is enticing enough as long as it does not move them into the tax further.

Re: Any offers for combination of Rozier/Fontecchio/Highsmith
I just don't really see anything on the horizon right now for a long term big salary dump. Dame and Beal were the best bets but those are resolved. Free agency is all but done so teams are not really looking to shed money at this point besides maybe some smaller dumps around the edges. Plus there are bad teams that are likely going to ask for less than the Heat to sell they future cap space versus the heat being reluctant but willing.

Would you package EC's with Ware for Siakam?

Jerami Grant and you can keep your FRP.

Re: Any offers for combination of Rozier/Fontecchio/Highsmith
Especially with Rozier’s off court issues, this is a negative value package. No one wants to pay a guy $25 million to not play, even if he is expiring (and there’s a very real possibility that if the EDNY investigation goes south, they’d be forced to sit him). You’re going to be looking exclusively at offers of bad long-term money that some other team wants to dump.
Probably better just to let these guys expire and try your hand in 26 FA

I saw a report that Rozier was cleared of wrongdoing in the case. Anyone else confirm this?
Thinking about Dejounte Murray landing spots, Heat come to mind. Rozier plus small salary for Murray and 2nds? Pels probably better off just waiting til Murray plays again to regain some of his value. But if a team like Heat get his medical and expect him to make a full recovery, they could see him as a buy low candidate?

IIRC he was cleared by the league but not the feds. Either way it’s kind of a secondary issue, he’s not worth the money even without the off court issues.

Rozier, Ware, JJJ, and 2 1sts for Garland.

That is definitely an option I just think the Heat need to be opportunistic for deals and buy low candidates since they are not able to compete with the likes of OKC, Spurs, etc. if a superstar becomes available on the trade market. They did great getting Norman Powell at a great price and need to keep that same mindset in looking at future deals.

I could be wrong but I do not see the Heat dealing that type of package for a player that does not fit well next to Herro in the backcourt and would block KJ from getting playing time.

I will admit that Dejounte is one player that did come to mind as a potential buy low candidate. If he is healthy that could be a deal similar to what they just did getting Norman Powell which is exactly the type of deal the Heat should be looking for given their lack of assets. Also I think getting Murray who is locked in at roughly $30 million for the next few years does give them some options in dealing with Herro’s contact. Murray is also young enough to fit Bam’s timeline. He is also big enough to play alongside Herro, Powell and KJ in the backcourt. I think a deal around Murray and a few 2nds for Rozier and Simone or Highsmith might be worth exploring.

Nice, good to see some agreement. I gave up posting Murray trades because every fan reaction is 'no way I'd take that contract, he's coming off an Achilles tear!' Which is a fair concern, and I'm sure many GMs feel the same. But Heat are one the few teams it makes sense for. Still doubt they'd take on so much that future years of salary for the uncertainty factor, unless they see him play again and play well.
For Pels, I think it especially makes sense if they have cap plans next offseason to utilize Murray's cleared salary off the books. Like if they trade for Kessler as a win now and future upgrade (for Missi and draft capital), then they can extend Kessler to a long term deal that starts next year, safely with Murray's salary out the way.

Rozier was indeed cleared. Probably still not a particularly valuable package, but with additional assets added it may be a package that can land something or other.
Honestly, what I expect to happen is Miami will develop Goldin or Johnson and let them pay with Bam, Ware, and Jovic in combination. It would be nice to add a veteran power player but I don't think it's a big need.

Re: Any offers for combination of Rozier/Fontecchio/Highsmith
There seems to be a glut of teams with useless expirings (Lakers come to mind) hoping to turn expiring trash into less trash. The trade market for these expirigs into something that isnt utterly horrendous (like a Jrue or PG13) contract appears to be very thin unless a team wants to cough up real draft capital. Which no one does since its unlikely theyre a team thats gonna compete for at least a year. No one wants to clog their cap either to keep flexibility for eating bad deals+draft capital, so it feels like we're in a collective holding pattern as we wait for another year to tick off of current deals.

Does Julius Randle in a three-way make some sense here? MIN would want value, particularly after the way Randle closed the season, and his first two play off series, but the fits might work.

Oh for sure this could be fine as salary filler in an assets-for-good-player deal. But on its own I think it’s pretty clearly a negative value package, not terribly so because they’re all expiring, but not going to bring back a useful player on its own unless a team is looking to dump long term money

MPJ..?
Rozier/Fontecchio/Jazquez for MPJ..
Herro/Powell/Wiggins/MPJ/Bam
Davion/Jaku/Larsson/Highsmith/Jovic/Ware..
They would lack star talent, but they would be packed with good players and depth.

This is another interesting option. Wondering if Brooklyn would be willing to add the New York 2027 FRP to deal and the Heat could send Rozier, JJJ, SF, and a 2027 second rd pick? It could open up space for Brooklyn next offseason to take on more salary for additional future first rd picks in salary dumps or go after a marquee free agent that hits the market. For Miami getting a 2027 FRP would be monumental to unlock up to 4 tradable picks. The NY first rd pick would more than likely be in the mid to late 20’s anyways.
