Like just a guy. Not a liability but nothing special either. Someone you feel safe giving minutes to but isn’t going to be a game changer. However, you can see his process in terms of thinking. The game is just too fast for him so far.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

To me looks like what people had concerns about....looks Too small to really play full time big man, And his shot is busted to really play a wing....

He was out at the 3pt line alot so it seems Raptors might try and develop him as a wing....We will see how that goes.

This is accurate. Funny how everyone kept saying Walter looks above the competition. Don’t see it at all. Also so far boyles looks just okay… defense is there but he looks like a defensive role player right now who has no offensive role outside of pick and roll dunks.

quote where anyone said he looks above the competition. just literally making stuff up to make some point is a bad look dawg

Literally like 1 or 2 people said it and he’s acting like 90% of the board said it lol

It’s kind of warranted. He’s statistically one of the worst players in the league

He is still adjusting to the speed of the game and his body needs to fill out still. He has so much potential!

I asked a question. I said what is his skillset? Answer that question first instead of hysterics about overreactions.

you are on a forum that has dissected his game for weeks along with a ton of youtube videos. dont ask a question like that without putting in the work. watch the videos and you will get your answer.

I’ve seen the videos. Maybe the question should’ve been how does he make an impact at the nba level with his skillset? If ball handling and playmaking was in his skillset, you would think he would be featured more in that regard. I haven’t seen them use him in a way that suggests he’s just a finisher and defender. Which is fine, but there was so much hype about his potential…

Fwiw, it wasn't "everyone" regarding Walter. It was a few. He looked like the 4-6best player last game, honestly.

You wrote Boyles and I thought...is that a typo? So used to seeing just CMB that Boyles looks weird.

Firstly I totally get what you mean because of course if these guys show different things offensively then it could exponentially raise the ceiling for the team buuut...

I still feel like the defensive part is what makes me the most excited because majority of these guys aren't going to be asked to do much at all offensively during the regular season. They'll likely be rotated through different lineups that include guys like BI, IQ, RJ, Gradey etc.

If these guys we see in the Summer League can defend at a high level and help our team be one of the better ones in the league while the other names I mention helped carry the scoring load (and even Scottie & Yak will help with their contributions offensively) then that's a recipe to be one of the better teams in the East. Of course, the Cavs, Knicks & Magic should likely be the top teams (w/ PHI with a massive asterisks for health), there are few other teams aside from them that I think will "definitively" be better than us especially if all these guys defend at this level consistently which will likely be the case as clearly both the organization and players themselves are trying to form that as their identity.

Lmaooo… stop trying to gaslight me. A bunch of posts in the first game thread were saying this. I have no reason to **** make anything up I’ve been here for too long.

Walter wasn’t a top pick so I’m not super disappointed but I did expect him to clearly look better than Summer League comp. Rn he still looks raw

Might need to send him to G league to ball hog for a few months to get creation reps up

It's just his first game back from an injury, can he at least get a game or two to get his wind back?! lol

I thought CMB was decent for his first half of pro ball. His length is real and you can already see how disruptive and versatile he can be. Not trying to do too much but again, everything he does isn't perhaps something that can be measured with a box score.

Damn bro this might be the most pessimistic I've ever seen you lol.

It’s alright boss, it's summer league, it’s fun to project what our players might become.

No it’s because you literally can use that quote for everyone. Once he gets a three pointer it’s over… we drafted a guy that was supposed to be a shooter and he’s been underwhelming as a shooter in two years. But we’re here acting like any random player who can’t shoot can just develop a 3. Barnes has been apparently working on his 3 since a rookie and had a historically awful shooting year last year despite having free rein to jack em up.

its actually quite difficult to find something negative in EVERYTHING, you certainly are good at what u do ngl.
