That John Schneider ejection was by far the best thing he’s ever done

Also, it's like John just called Davis' shot for him. It's like that's how you activate Babe Schneider.

They are fortunate Yankees and Tampa lost today. I believe being a dome stadium the heat can be used as an excuse today.

They’ve played bad baseball all week, the heat is just an easy out for them to quit early

I think we are basically a .500 team.
Good thing is that we paced ourselves a 14 game bulge over .500, so that .500 rest of the way is 88 wins which will get you in the playoffs.

Of course we would need normal run luck. (we have had run luck and good clutch play so far). We could get a bit of bump from injury returns too.

Make some trades to help the depth in starter and the pen, stick with our bats. Not sure if this is a team that I make a big gun trade for by moving Nimmala/Yesavage. Even with a big trade we still need to play over our heads in the playoffs... let's see what we do the week after the break to dictate our trade strategy,

I wouldn’t be trading big prospects for rentals on this team (which, yes, I think is probably a slightly above .500 team from a true talent perspective), that’s for sure, but there’s no telling what a desperate front office is capable of.

3 times now this series they’ve made an error on a throw to 1st base, terrible baseball

Vlad has to step up if we're going to be a serious team in the second half. Hasn't cracked a .900 OPS month yet after doing it 4 times last year. He's doing enough to make a contribution but he hasn't looked dangerous all season. No clutch either.

Still on par or better than every season he’s had in his career other than 2021 and 2024.

This is just sort of what he is more often that not and we decided to pay him a ridiculous amount of money for that.

I think he's past the point of us still talking about his "potential" now. I was very high on him early on in his career and willing to give him some leeway to grow and adjust, but he is probably what he is now. He'll have the occasional outlier good years like last year but for the most part he's going to be the more average guy we've seen for most of the last few years.

Yeah - I'm still not convinced that this team is better than NY, BOS or Tampa. We have scored fewer runs than all 3 and have allowed more runs than NY and Tampa. I worry that we had a bit of a flukey 10 game winning streak but otherwise have been pretty mediocre. But they will go for it for sure. FO has not been extended so they need to.
